Job Description

Title: Business Development Executive


Reports to: Chief Executive
Location: Lansdowne
Hours: 37.5 (Mon-Fri , 9:00 to 17:30 with an hour unpaid for lunch)
Pay: 24k-26k per annum, plus performance related bonus

Position Overview

The Business Development Executive (BDE) will work exclusively on activities related to
identifying, pitching for and securing new employers who wish to hire apprentices. The
activities will be carried out for both Future Un-Ltd and Tech City Stars. Activities will
include prospecting for and making initial contact with new clients, engaging with clients
and supporting the development of relevant collateral to support sales activity. Clients
will be deemed to be secured once a signed order form is received and the BDE will have
monthly targets set based on the number of order forms signed and dated in that month.
A fundamental element of this role is to create as broad a network of companies as
possible to tap into in order to create vacancies, whilst maintaining the ability to identify,
engage and secure the targeted number of new clients in each period during the
development of the aforementioned network.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The main duties and responsibilities of the role are:

Client Engagement

To engage with companies for both TCS and FUL programmes with a view to creating
securing new vacancies as per agreed targets on a monthly basis.
To send, record and follow up prospecting emails (volumes as required to engage the
requisite number of vacancies) to new prospects.
To identify, research and telephone (volumes as required to engage the requisite
number of vacancies) new prospects regularly.
Secure meetings with and meet with potential clients to pitch the product and ensure
that each new client completes an order form.
Work with the client to create JDs and ascertain what the client wants from an
apprentice.
Ensure proper handover to Client Services Coordinator and brief them on
requirements of each company.
At all times be active and creative in attempts to build up a client base.

Network Development

Work daily to build and maintain a pool of clients from whom vacancies can be
created either immediately or gradually.
To ensure that appropriate focus is put onto individual programmes to ensure a good
spread of vacancies for all teams.
Research and attend appropriate events in London that might give insight into which
clients we should engage, and which we shouldnt.
Maintain good relations with other educational companies who might be able to help
us, although be wary of offering our clients their services.
Be familiarized with and use Sales force software for logging and maintaining client
engagement.

Marketing and Social Media Management

Be familiarized with and use online platforms such as Twitter/Facebook and
potentially blogging sites as well.
Work with other members of the team (CSC and LDOA) to ensure that social media
platforms for all companies present an appropriate image of the companies and that
all social media posts are in line with the strategy as required.

Person Specification

Essential Desirable
Degree qualified. Experience of Working in Sales.
2 4 A Good A Levels. Experience of the skills sector.
Good GCSE Grades. Knowledge of Salesforce.
Excellent Communicator in person, on the
phone and in writing.
Proven ability to understand, meet and
exceed targets.
Tenacious, target oriented and driven to
achieve results.
