TRANSPORT
After arriving at Copenhagen Airport there are several options to travel to your destination. Of
course the prices differ a lot.

UNIVERSITIES

The university of Copenhagen has a wide variety of courses taught in English and offers both
Bachelor (BA) and Masters (MA) level each semester.
Guest and exchange students from non-Scandinavian countries can also take pre-semester and
semester Danish Language Courses. The courses are offered by the Department of
Scandinavian Studies and Linguistics at UCPH.
Courses taught in English are:
- Health and Medical Sciences
- Humanities
- Law
- Science
- Social Sciences
- Theology and African Studies

HOUSING
The University of Copenhagen Housing Foundation (UCPH Housing Foundation) is an
independent entity which assists international students coming to University of Copenhagen
in finding accommodation while in Copenhagen. It is the cheapest way for international
students to find and hire sleeping accommodations.
*Access to all forms of public transport such as trains, busses and metros. Free access to
over 60 museums.
**Can be used by more than one owner.

The Housing Foundation provides three types of accommodations for students: halls of
residence, private housing and shared apartments.

SPOKEN LANGUAGES
Danish is the official language spoken in Denmark. There is a small minority which speaks
German. The Danish are known, just like the Dutch, for their proper and sufficient English
skills.


SCHOLARSHIPS
Studying in Denmark is free when you are an European citizen. College tuition is also free if
you participate in an exchange program, if you have a permanent residence or if you have a
parent who already works in Denmark. All the other students have to pay a yearly college
tuition varying from 6000 till 16000 euros.
When studying in Denmark (for part of your study time) you are able to receive a scholarship
when registered as a full time student at a Dutch university. When wanting to do a full study in
Denmark (4 years) you can ask for permission at DUO to take your Dutch scholarship with
you.

The Copenhagen Post Danish newspaper written in English for non-Danish citizens who
want to follow the news. (printed newspaper as well as online)
