West Orange Partners with Local Barbershop and National Fatherhood Buzz
Campaign for Fathers Day Giveaway Contest

June 11, 2014 West Orange, NJ The Township of West Orange is partnering with the
Fatherhood Buzz Campaign and 8 to 8 Barber Shop for a Fathers Day Facebook
Giveaway. Prizes will be offered to two applicants who enter the contest, which launched on
Tuesday, June 10

and ends on Saturday, June 14.
The contest is part of the national campaign through President Obamas Fatherhood
Initiative, Fatherhood Buzz. Fatherhood Buzz is an effort to increase awareness around
responsible fatherhood and parenting issues, and increase families access to support
through local barbershops throughout the country. West Orange and participating business
8 to 8 Barbershop are partnering with this initiative to support barbershops in connecting
dads with local resources to help build strong families.
Part of 8 to 8 Barber Shops mission, is to provide a community hub where individuals can
benefit from meaningful relationships and help to those in need. The shop is located at 2
Northfield Avenue in West Orange.
Contestants can enter on the Township website at www.westorange.org/mydad.

Entrants can choose to win one of two prizes. The first option is to click on the Fathers Day
Simple Entry to win a haircut, hot towel razor shave and facial. The other option is to write a
100-word or less essay about What Makes Your Father or Father Figure Great for a chance
to win one of the following from 8 to 8 Barber Shop: 3 Month Unlimited Haircut Membership
for applicant and dad, 2 haircuts for applicant and dad, or a haircut for the applicant and
their father.

"We wanted to partner in this national campaign because while mothers play an equally
important role, especially in nourishing and nurturing, fathers are the backbone of our
communities. When fathers are not present there is often a societal breakdown and we want
to help address that. This campaign helps affirm the role of "father." It's not just about
honoring fathers, but helping fathers recognize and fulfill their role, 8 to 8 Barber Shop
owner Jason Robinson said.

Applications must be submitted before Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 6:00 PM EST. Winners
will be chosen on Sunday June 15, 2014 and notified via email or phone.
