We are State Employees just like you. We are not lawyers or legal advisors.
Please verify with SEIU the validity of our responses. If you find
contradictions between our information and SEIU response please contact us
immediately.

Q. I am wondering who is sending this and how my information
was obtained. Please contact me via email.

Go to www.seiuNGO.com
We are SEIU Members and Non Members who demand transparency
& accountability from our Union.
Being a public employee the information is available at the State
Controllers Office.

Q. How did you get these email addresses? You needed to access
the global, and as a state employee, this is a misappropriation
of state resources. I hope they find you and hang you out to
dry.

Being a public employee your name, dept, and salary is public
information. The email syntax was very simple to reconstruct. No,
nobody is going to hang us out dry.

Q. Can you please provide a quick breakdown of each member
type and what dues will be?

Please contact SEIU Local 1000 at: 866-471-7348

Q. I want to be a non-germane objector but simply cannot trust
using your documents because they are sloppy.

We have done our best to make corrections. Please let the LAW
dictate your choice and not some poor punctuation.

Q. I sent in my letter last week, certified mail. Haven't heard back
yet. Is it normal to take this long to open mail? I just want to
make sure I don't miss this deadline if I need to resubmit.

SEIU will not confirm receipt of the Objection Letter. You should see a
deduction in your pay check starting August, but effective since July.
Call SEIU 1000 to confirm receipt of your Objection Letter
1-866-471-7348

Q. Can you please provide a quick breakdown of each member
type and what dues will be?

Please call SEIU 1000: 1-866-471-7348

Q. Does Non Germane Objector include non member who also pay
dues?

Yes, they pay approx. 34% less than Members

Q. How can I verify if my form was received if I mailed through
regular mail?

Call SEIU before the Deadline, July 1
st
, 2014: 1-866-471-7348

Q. I cancelled my memberships years ago. Do I need to resubmit
to receive the fee reduction or is it automatic for prior
cancellations?

You will need to resubmit every June until the Court rules in our favor
to Opt In rather than Opt Out, which means the burden of collecting
the voluntary donation is on SEIU. We would all be paying the lower
dues and SEIU would have to collect the voluntary additional fees.

Q. If I opt out will I lose the life insurance plan?

Most likely SEIU will stop servicing the automatic payments. You need
to contact your life insurance company directly to find out. Were not
sure, but doubt any business will drop their customers because of their
choice to become a Non Germane Objector. Can you please send us
the result of your inquiry with your life insurance so we can post it on
our web?

Q. Thank you very much. I have been trying to get this done for
years. I have objected so many times and the Union just never
acknowledges it. I appreciate your help very much!

Make sure you send your form certified receipt or hand deliver and call
SEIU 1000 next week to confirm receipt of your form.

Q. I don't understand what this means?

This is your right to choose whether you want to contribute an
additional 34% of the dues you currently pay for political activities and
matters that are not related to Collective Bargaining.

Q. Need help with a specific code on official business
Question is not specific. You can also call SEIU Local 1000:

Q. Want more info?
Please be more specific or refer to the Dills Act (www.SEIUngo.com) or

Q. I did not receive the form last year and was told (too late). I
have sent in two forms this month and want to make sure that
my rights are received and respected.
A. If you want to be sure SEIU1000 received it, then we suggest you
send it by certified mail, or hand deliver two copies, being sure to have
them stamp a copy that you can keep for proof of delivery.
Q. I'm trying to find out what the monthly dues would if I
complete the forms. My classification is PI EPR with the EDD
UI dept.
A. Your savings would be 34% or approximately 1/3 of the dues you are
currently paying
Q. Will I still be a part of CSEA and be able to receive union
discounts?
A. You will not be able to get union discounts. You will still earn SEIU
benefits of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (wages, vacations,
pensions, health insurance) and grievance representation. Visit Perb:
http://www.perb.ca.gov/laws/Dills.aspx
Q. Will the union represent me individually if I have a problem
with my supervisor and I have filed for NGO opt out?
A. Yes, as a fair share fee payer, you will still have representation.
Q. Can someone send me info on what this is about?
A. This is a law that SEIU does not want their members to know about.
You can go to the website www.seiungo.com for further explanation or
contact SEIU directly at (866) 471-7348
Q. Aside from mailing NGO forms to 1108 O St Sacramento, is
there anywhere else I can drop off the forms in person?
A. No, it must be received at the Sacramento Headquarters office.
Q. If your efforts bust SEIU local 1000, then who will negotiate
our wages, benefits, and working conditions on behalf of the
state workers?
A. The amount of dues that SEIU will no longer take from you is
approximately 34%. They will still keep approximately 66% of what
you are currently paying. That is the amount of money they are
currently able to use for Collective Bargaining (negotiating Contracts)
purposes and Grievance Representation.
Q. How true is this?
A. It is the law! You can contact SEIU Directly for verification (If youre
lucky they will answer your questions), or go to: www.seiungo.com
and click on the tab (Its The Law).

Q. On the Reduce your Union Dues form, should the last bullet be
changed from 2013-14 to 2014-2015?

A. No. The years as shown are correct. That is the year that SEIU was
challenged that the percentage allocated for Non Germane Dues was
too low. That amount was disputed and Arbitration ruled that the
amount is approximately 34%.
Q. What specific benefits will I lose by reducing my monthly dues?
A. You will not be able to get union discounts. You will not be able to vote
for the Union Representatives. You will still earn SEIU benefits of the
Collective Bargaining Agreement (wages, vacations, pensions, health
insurance) and grievance representation and youll be able to keep the
approximately 34% of the Non Germane Dues you are currently paying in
your pocket.
Q. I think more information is needed and if you want to be taken
seriously, you need to edit your webpage, and fix your numerous
typographical and grammatical errors.
A. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. We are doing our best to
make any corrections that may be necessary. All information can be
confirmed by SEIU 1000 or go to:

Q. Dues amt?

A. Regular monthly membership dues are currently 1.5% of monthly
gross salary and are presently capped at the maximum of $90.00 per
month. Dues are subject to change without further notice to fee payers,
(SEIU, June 2014 notice to Fair Share Fee Payers).
