CHINESE PAINTING

of patterns or designs rather than pictures).
The hand painted art had an air of thinness
and slightness. Most of them were in water-
color, not in oil.
The Chinese classify their painting as a form
of writing -calligraphy.
Painters practice the skill of execution.
Expresses immense feeling & emotion about
nature & everyday living.

Around 100 BC, Paper was cheaper to write
on than silk.

organize armies and battles).

hugging you.

Ideas of symmetry and balance were
observed.
Made temples/palace seek not to dominate
nature, but to cooperate with it.
CHINESE MUSIC

The legendary founder of music in Chinese
Mythology was Ling Lon, who made
bamboo pipes tuned to the sounds of birds.
From the Qin Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty,
there have been nearly 400 Emperors
POLITICS
Greatly governed by an emperor known as
ruler of "All under heaven.
Evolved into a Republican country. Primary
organs of state power are the National
People's Congress (NPC), the President, and
the State .
RELIGION
Taoism(universal force essential to a happy
life ), Confucianism (Order is the way to
peace) & Buddhism (200 BC) dominated
the mainland China.
Two important philosophical schools of this
period. Mo Tzu (happiness was for
everyone ) & Legalism (basically bad,
implemented strict laws and harsh
punishments in order to create order and
peace.)
ECONOMY
Chinas Economy has varied among
dynasties.
In northern China, wheat. In southern
China, rice.
Mining was another important industry to
China.
SOCIETY
Influenced by the Japanese and Korean
concepts.
Most important relationship was with your
family.
Used Hierarchical way of Social status.
