The website tells what kind of genre
Attack the Block is. It also shows the
age certificate the film is.
This link helped me because
it showed the age rating of
the film and the reason why
it happens to be 15 which
means that there some
strong languages. Also, it
shows me the genre, which
is action because there a lot
of fighting scenes.

This video is about Charlie Brooker
talking about how television
programmes get made. He also talked
about things that are copyright. For
example, I learned that showing a clip
of an episode from Cloppa Castle
would be considered copyright
material, except if used for purposes
of criticism and reviews.
This was useful because
Charlie Brooker talks about
the copyrights in films and
criticism. This will also help
me with my report when it
comes to materials.

level 3 book.

This book gives information about film
locations. For example, the book
explains that I would need to have
permission to be able to shoot my
short film where I want.

This book was helpful
because it warns me that I
should be allowed to shoot
my film where I want by the
location manager. When I
want to shoot my short film,
I would need to make sure
that I get permission to be
able to use the chosen
location.

I went to the LRC and I got a book
from there which talks about the
classifications in films. It also talks
about the age rating used in films and
the laws in the BBFC.
This source was useful
because it explains what the
BBFC does and gives the
meaning of each age rating.
For example, if a film is age
rated 12, it means that it is
suitable for people aged 12
and over. This source also
talked about the Human
Right Act 1998 which
establishes the right to
freedom of expression and
the BBFC has to have regard
to the impact of its decisions
on the rights of any relevant
person.

The book gives information on Ofcom.
For example, I learnt that Ofcom
regulates television, advertisement,
radio sectors and other things in the
UK.
This source was helpful
because it explains what
Ofcom does. An example is
to further the interests of
the citizens in relation to
communications matters.
Ofcom can also direct a
broadcaster to publish a
correction or adjudication.

This book shows information on the
codes of practise and regulations. It
says that if I would like to use a
copyright material, such as music, I
would need to get permission from
the original owner.
This source was useful
because it makes aware of
the copyright in films such as
background music or sound
effects from the Internet. It
also tells me that I would
have to pay the owner
money if I would want to use
a copyright material.

level 3 book.

This book shows information about
the job roles. For example says that
editors are responsible for completing
the production as a sequence of shots
made from the rushes, dialogue,
sound effects and graphics. Another
example is camera operators and they
are responsible to provide their own
camera and take shots required by the
director.
This source was helpful
because it shows the main
job roles in films and what
its their responsibility such
as directors, who directs the
film cast and crew on how
they want a scene to be
played, and producers, who
are in charge of film
productions, and are
responsible for raising
finance and hiring crew
members, even the director.

This website shows the comments the
short films received.
This website wasnt helpful
because it doesnt give a lot
of information. However, it
shows positive comments
and gives the impression
that a short film like Last

example of a positive
comment is when someone
posted, visually great.

This book gives information on
contributors. It says that I would need
to get permission from anyone who
may appear in my film. It says that to
get permission, I would need to get
people who might appear in my film
to sign a release form before they can
become talents.
The book was useful because
it informs me how I will get
permission for people to act
in my short film by making
them sign a release form to
show evidence.

This website talks about costumes. It
also explains that if there any bad
props in films it can mess up the film.
This website was helpful
because it tells why it is
important to have the right
props in films. For example,
one bad prop, may confuse
my viewers from the story
because it may not match
with the genre of my film
which is drama.

costumes help to set the scene in
films.

it explain that costumes are
useful to set the scene in the
film industry. For example,
the costume designers made
sure that they made a
suitable costume for Robert
Downey Jr since that he is
acting as Sherlock Holmes
and since that the genre of
the film is action-mystery;
the costume should match

This website explains the job role of a

that to become a script writer, that
person doesnt need a degree in
screenwriting but he or she needs
skills and experience.

because it showed what a
script writers job role is and
what it takes to become one.
16/05/14 Primary Focus group I did a focus group to get feedback
from my target audience on what I
need to improve for my film. It also
helped me know what people liked
about the story.
The feedback I received from
people helped me know
what they liked and the
things I needed to change.
For example, people said
that they liked the story of
my film because it is simple
and has a good twist.
However, people said that it
was too short so I decided to
make the scene longer
instead of doing jump
cutting.

I looked at this book and it showed
how directors are very important in
the film industry. The book also talks
about directors having unique styles
of dialogue and characterization.
Directing covers all the disciplines of
film from development and writing.
This book helped me
because it showed me the
job role directors do in films
which is turn a script play
into a reality by directing by
directing the cast and crew.
