C.)
School A decreased in concentration from day to night.
School B increased in concentration from day to night. School A
experienced a much higher concentration of SO
to School B which was much lower. This is mostly related to the distance
away the school's were from the plume and the stability of the
atmosphere in relation to the effective height of the plume. Because the
atmosphere was moderately unstable turbulence caused high level
ground concentrations from the plume "looping." School A experienced
the peak of the concentration at 1 km and School B was great reduced in
concentration at 5 km.
At night the atmospheric stability was neutral and
"coning" behavior is expected. A smaller plume is expected which is
indicted by the much smaller concentration at school A and school B.
School B had the much higher concentration
spreading down at the further distance. School A most likely experienced
the plume rising and therefore less concentration would be expected.
