1.) Construct a scale of 1¼”=1 foot, to measure upto 5 feet and show 3’5” on it.

2.) The distance between two points on a map is 5¾”. The points actually 20
miles apart. Construct a diagonal scale of the map showing miles & furlongs
and to read upto 25 miles. (8)

3.) The foci of an ellipse are 90 mm apart and the minor axis is 65 mm long.
Determine the length of the major axis and draw ellipse by concentric circle
method. Also draw a normal and tangent at a point 25 mm above the major
axis. (7)

1.) Construct a scale of ¾” = 1 yard, to measure upto 10 yards & show 7 yards &
2 feet on it. (5)

2.) On a map, the distance between two points is 14 cm. the real distance between
them is 20 km. draw a diagonal scale of this map to read kilometers and to
measure upto 25 km. show a distance of 17.6 km on this scale. (8)

3.) Two fixed points A & B are 100 mm apart. Trace the complete path of a point
P moving in such a way that the sum of its distances from A & B is always tha
same & equal to 125 mm. Also draw normal & tangent at any point on the
curve. (7)

1.) Measure the angles of triangle PQR (10 cm x 8 cm x 6 cm) by means of Scale
of Chords. (5)

2.) A 3.2 cm long line represents a length of 4 metres. Extend this line to measure
upto 25 metres & show on it units of metre, decimeter & metres. Show the
length of 17.7 m on this line. (8)

3.) The vertex of a curve is 65 mm from its focus. Draw the curve if the
eccentricity is 6/7. Draw a nowmal & tangent at a point on the curve 75 mm
from the directrix. (7)

1.) Construct a scale of chords showing 50 divisions and show angles of 200, 350,
950 & 1450. (5)

2.) An area of 144 sq.cm. on a map represents an area of 36 sq. km on the field.
Find the RF & draw a diagonal scale to measure upto 10 km and show a
distance of 7.56 km on it. (8)

3.) The major axis of an ellipse is 150mm long & the minor axis is 100 mm long.
Find the foci and draw the ellipse by ‘Concentric Circle method’. Draw the
normal & tangent to the ellipse at a point on it 25 mm above the major axis.

1.) Construct a scale of 1 3/8” = 1 mile, to measure upto 4 miles & show 7
furlongs on it. (5)

2.) Construct a diagonal scale of RF= 1/4000 show metres & long enough to
measure upto 500 metres & show a distance of 207 metres on it. (8)
3.) Draw a straight line AB. Mark a point F, 65 mm from AB. Trace the path of a
point P moving in such a way, that that the ratio of its distance from the point
F, to its distance from AB is 2:3. plot at least 8 points. Draw normal and a
tangent to each curve at a point on it, 50 mm from F. (7)

1.) Construct angles of 400 & 1200 by means of Scale of Chords. (5)

2.) A room of 1728 m3 volume is shown by a cube of 216 cm3 volume. Find RF &
construct a diagonal scale to measure upto 42 m . mark a distance of 22.6 m
on the scale. (8)

3.) A fixed point is 75 mm from a fixed straight line. Draw the locus of a point P
moving such a way that its distance from the fixed straight lint is twice its
distance from the fixed point. Name the curve and also draw a tangent at any
suitable point. (7)
