La Triennale di Milano
Small Places to Treat with
Kindness
Nice project by A12 in Milan.
What the small places to treat with kindness are?
They are waste spaces, apparently without any
quality, small public spaces inside the city, but big
enough to result a resource for the neighborhood;
they are still recognizable, but unused or
neglected. Everyone can daily see them without
realizing how little they are livable and how little
it could take to make them welcoming
Why mapping?
Even if the public space of Milan often lacks of
quality, the city is full of these small places, that
it is worth recognizing, identifying and mapping
What does it mean treat with kindness?

PAV / Parco Arte Vivente
It is a project by Piero Gilardi, helped by a lot of
other people. It opened in 2008, in Torino.
It means take care of these spaces as good
landladies, with small gestures and acts, micro
events able to underline and improve their
wordless qualities

Lake Baikal
Drawing in Frozen (Fibonacci
Series)
Last year, The Anthropologist, an artists platform
and offshoot of the boho-chic womens clothing
chain Anthropologie, commissioned Santa Cruz-
based land artist Jim Denevan to draw on the
frozen surface of Lake Baikal in Siberia. His goal:
Use the worlds largest lake to create the worlds
largest work of art.

Macao
Macao, what is next?
They occupied the Torre Galfa in Milanese
downtown.
Then they occupied Palazzo Citterio. In both cases
they were kicked out by police.
What are they at now?
What will be their next move?

Roma Stazione Tiburtina
...to make a new station totally useless.
People get off their trains and they take the
undeground passage heading toward the city. If
you like you can go up to this cute (but useless)
cathedral.
You go up, then you walk all the way, and then
you go down again. Not by chance, no normal
person would take this way (infact the station is
totally empty).
Italy can be an extremely curious place.
The station has been finished in 2012, a project by
Paolo Desideri and ABDR studio. IF you want to see

GrandTouristas starts...
Today it was the official launch of GranTouristas
project.
Thanks to the nice invite from Luca Zevi (curator
of the Italian Pavillion at Venice Biennale of
Architecture), we will run the social/digital media
part of the whole thing.
The challenge is nice: to launch a digital
community spinning around the themes defined by
mr Zevi and the Inarch group. From now to the
Biennale opening (late August) it will be
experiments and prototypes. Then, the real thing,
it will be from the 29th of August till late
November.

In my understanding of the universe, this is a fair
representation of what I would consider

It was late night and the plane was flying over
Siberia (i guess). Most of the people were sleeping,

watching movies.

I was in the lobby of this nice hotel, when all

sudden a bright light opened up in the sky.
Vibrations everywhere, a strange music, and some
little green men where welcoming us.
Next, I felt moved upward, at first slow, then
faster.
I was moving up toward the light, I could feel
myself getting outside my body, till I disappeared,
light into light.
Quite a nice experience. Next we were on the
topfloor restaurant to have breakfast...
Then aliens arrived and they
pulled me up toward their
starship...

Landing...
Another thing I love about airplanes is to watch
the landing on the little screen in front of my seat.
Very nice invention. It feels like a movie, but
knowing you are into it.

Shanghai, China
I arrived in Shanghai two days ago. It took me two
days, but now I am able to see Facebook, to write
things, and, from this morning, even to post
images
Thanks to Pan and to the mighty Astrill software, I
am now able to access Facebook and do normal
things on it.
Next step is to access also Twitter (for the time
being I can access it only through my phone).
For reasons unknown to me, the Chinese
Communist Party has no problem with Instagram,
some little problems with Facebook (low firewall)
and lots of problems with Twitter.
Finally, as Deng Xiaoping famously stated: "Ana
Arranzlog-only is not socialism. To be on Facebook
is glorious".
