MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER
Chronological Bible Reading: Job 19- 21; Ac t s 13
Monday, June 30
Rom. 8: 29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to
the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Lord in Heaven:
Here I am, asking again to be washed in the open fountain of Christs blood
so every sin can be put away. You know my sins. You know the rebelliousness of
my nature. Stamp your image on my heart! Help me never wander completely
from the hard but right path of obeying your will. Remove every disgraceful
desire, every wrong ambition, and everything contrary to the mind of God and
the Spirit of Christ. Strengthen me with new vision for your Eternal Purpose.
It seems strange, and passes belief, and yet you teach me to say Abba,
Father. I confess I am unworthy even after all you have done, and I often act
ungratefully and very distrustfully. But Lord, you have not changed, and your
faithfulness abounds as much now as it did in the Bible ages. Thank you Lord,
that I can trust you to enable my fulfillment of your mission.
Some may have a smooth road this year, but mine has been a rough climb.
At times there was a deep descent into the valley of humiliation and sorrow, but I
know you led me on the hard but right way. Many times, to be beaten back was
the only way you could prepare and strengthen me to advance. To hit rock
bottom the only way to latch onto the rock. Help me raise-up a wall of prayer for
__________ and __________ to be saved yet this year.
I pray for the missionaries from our church. Give them courage for all their
trials and grace for all their joys. Whatever their distress may be at this time, give
them strength for the day and joy along the way. Speak through them by the Holy
Ghosts power. May there be a people for you found in their place of ministry,
and may we be side-by-side with you, O bleeding Savior, at the end. Amen.
TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS CROSS
Chronological Bible Reading: Job 22- 24; Ac t s 14
Tuesday, July 1
Isa. 50: 3 I clothe the heavens with blackness, and I make sackcloth their covering.
Mighty Maker:
The place called Calvary is holy ground, because there you veiled the cross
in darkness. Much of its deeper meaning rests in darkness, not because you do
not want it revealed, but because we do not have the capacity to receive it.
1 Ti m. 3: 16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was
manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed
on in the world, received up into glory.
The veil of darkness over Calvary pictures for me how the powers of
darkness always try to conceal the cross of Christ. I fight with darkness when I
try to lift up Christ. My pastors wrestle with darkness when they try to preach the
cross. So many times we have to say, even as you did Lord,
Luke 22: 53 When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands
against me: but t hi s i s your hour, and t he power of darkness.
If the prince of darkness is anywhere in force, it is where Jesus Christ is
lifted up on the cross! Todays modern postmodern theology obscures the
atonement. It disputes imputed righteousness. It makes sin a trifle, and its
punishment only temporary. By underrating the disease it disrespects the remedy.
Oh Lord, give me grace to preach Christ! Man or woman, we should all
preach Christ! Help me keep him high and lifted up throughout this summer. It is
so hard when Satan obscures the Savior with a slump. I ask you for a special
anointing of your Spirit to bring Christ into the fall with me. Help me bring
Christ into my plans and resolutions so I can, above all, bring Christ to the lost! I
care not for time off, but for time to witness for Christ. I love you for the
sacrifice that paid for my sins. Let me honor you even more today. Amen.
WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING
Chronological Bible Reading: Job 25- 27; Ac t s 15
Wednesday, July 2
Hab. 2: 20 But the LORD is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before
him.
O Lord My God:
I keep t he si l enc e of at t ent i on so your word can be heard in my soul. I
want to be able to detect the gentle movements of your Spiritwarning me with
enlightenment, revealing both my own self, and my Savior. By those small
promptings can I feel you urging me to greater consecration, and by your divine
support I will know a higher life of holiness than I knew beforerevival!
I do not expect you to hear me if I will not listen to you. So let me be silent
until I hear your word slaying all my pride, and self-will, and self-seeking. I want
you to proclaim your sole glory in every part of my manhood or womanhood.
I want to learn t he si l enc e of submi ssi on, and for this I need the gracious
help of your Spirit. Give me a heart silent to any wish, will, opinion or judgment
of my own, so your mind is my mind, and your will becomes my desires. I might
be healed of my wounds if I would just be silent.
In that silence let me renew my st rengt h. Noise wears at me, but silence
feeds me. To run your errands is good, but to sit at your feet is always necessary.
My power to fulfill your commands comes from hearkening to the voice of your
word. Quiet thought and meditation is fit preparation for even a human debate,
how much more is it needed when I approach the throne to plead with you?
Let me be silent and remember the your wounds that redeemed mankind.
They cannot fail to reach their reward. Jesus cannot be robbed of the power he
earned by the cross! I yield up all my wisdom and strength. The source of my
worst woe is my own personal ability, and the source of my worst foolishness is
my own homegrown wisdom. Make me mighty in Christ today!
A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING
Chronological Bible Reading: Job 28- 30; Ac t s 16
Thursday, July 3
Josh. 7: 8 O Lord, what shall I say, when Israel turneth their backs before their enemies!
MY Father is rich in houses and lands,
He holdeth the wealth of the world in His hands!
Of rubies and diamonds, of silver and gold,
His coffers are full, He has riches untold.

My Fathers own Son, the Savior of men,
Once wandered on earth as the poorest of them;
But now He is pleading our pardon on high,
That we may be His, when He comes by and by.

I once was an outcast stranger on earth,
A sinner by choice, an alien by birth,
But Ive been adopted, my names written down,
An heir to a mansion, a robe and a crown.

A tent or a cottage, why should I care?
Theyre building a palace for me over there;
Though exiled from home, yet still may I sing:
All glory to God, Im a child of the King.

Im a child of the King, a child of the King:
With Jesus my Savior, Im a child of the King.

FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY
Chronological Bible Reading: Job 31- 33; Ac t s 17
Friday, July 4
Prov. 10: 9 He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways
shall be known.
Dear Jesus:
What a great verse for the anniversary of our nation! Our walk may be slow,
but it is sure. Those who hurry toward sin are neither sure nor innocent. Help us
carry out discipleship with integrity, because even if it never brings riches it will
certainly bring peace and fruitfulness. I notice when we make wise decisions we
are like people walking on solid rock. We have confidence every step we take is
on safe ground. But whatever success we get through trusting in ourselves is
always hollow and treacherous. Every other area seems to be affected by sin
in one spot. So Lord, do not let us get in that position (by not following the hard
but right way) where even our gains come back to condemn us.
Help us be discipled in truth and righteousness. By your grace, let us today
imitate the Lord, since he is our Master. In his mouth no deceit was ever found.
Make us not fearfulof being poor, or even being treated with disrespect.
Never, for any reason, let us do those things that our conscience cannot justify
because of being convicted by your Spirit. We want to walk uprightly so we can
walk surely. If we lose our inward compass and are corrupted at our core values,
then we lose more than any amount of money can buy. But if we keep to your
way, and do not go against our conscience when it is conditioned by the Word of
God, then the Spirit makes our way secure against all attacks. Who can harm us if
we follow what is good? Truth, as we know, will never be our enemy.
We may be thought fools for standing firm in our integrity. But there is one
place where judgment is infallible, and there we will be approved by Christ. Make
us fit for that day so we can glorify Jesus. For his sake we so pray. Amen.
SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS
Chronological Bible Reading: Job 34- 36; Ac t s 18
Saturday, July 5
Ps a. 37: 3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and
verily thou shalt be fed.
Dear Lord:
Help me today to put trust and do together, and keep them in the
order in which the Holy Spirit put them in Psalm 37. I want to have faith, and you
want me to have faith that works. Help my trust free-up my doing, because if I
trust you for good then I also want to be doing good.
I cannot sit still because of trust. I have to expect you want to work by me
and through me to others, in all my circumstances and all my days. There is
something special you want to accomplish today (I believe thathence trust),
and you want to do it through me (hence do).
It is not my job to worry and do evil, but to trust and do good. What is
there that I am not trusting you about right now? Is there a relationship I want to
grab and hold onto? Is there a job I need? Is there something to be performed?
Give me a radical transformation, to follow radical discipleship, so I neither trust
without doing nor do without trusting!
Enemies want to move me out of my resting place in faith, but by trusting
and doing I will dwell in that land. I will not return to Egypt (the world). I will
not be conquered by Amalek (the flesh). I will remain in Emmanuels land
within the providence of God and the borders of his will. I cannot be so easily
gotten rid of as Gods enemies suppose. They cannot push me out or stamp me
out, because where God has given me a name and a place, I stand!
What about my needs? That is why you added the word verily. As sure as
your word is true, your people will be satisfied. If it is mine to trust and to do,
it is yours to do as I trust. Help me not fear, for in Jesus name I ask it. Amen.

HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH

HOW TO BUILD A BALANCED LIFE

1) TIMEWORSHIP
Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and
departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is
to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily
devotions.

2) TITHEWORK
1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as
God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions
asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come
off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the
firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our
resources.

3) TEAMWORD
Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship
with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS
! Keeping Christ at the center (your core relationship of worship to God)
! Keeping the body of Christ a priority (your congregational relationship of
walking with us)
! Basing beliefs and actions on the mind of Christ (your church relationship in
the Word)

PRAYER DIARY

" INTERCEDE WITH GOD " INSTRUCT SAINTS
" PROMPT PETITIONS " KICKSTART DEVOTION

INSTRUCTIONS:

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.
This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you
might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to
God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you
through the Bible chronologically in a year.
Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.
Alan

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
