The ARRIS E6000 Converged Edge Router (CER) delivers new levels of density and cost-effectiveness in

a simple, robust integrated architecture that has the capability to realize the vision of CCAPthe
convergence of high-speed data, voice, and video service delivery from a single connector.
This document provides the typical power usage of the various components of the E6000 CER as well as
the system power at a temperature of 25 C. The typical power is meant to be used to estimate E6000
CER power consumption with an accuracy of +/- 10%. The design of the power feeds for the E6000 CER
should not use this information but must use the information specified in the E6000 CER User
Documentation.
The information in this document is accurate for E6000 CER Generation 1 Hardware and Rel. 1.0
software only.
Below is the E6000 CER per-module typical power:
E6000 Module Typical Power @ 25 C
Fan Tray 50
Router System Module (RSM) 215
Upstream Cable Access Module (UCAM) & Active UPIC 170
Downstream Cable Access Module (DCAM) & Active DPIC 325

The diagram below shows the typical system power consumption of the E6000 CER for a range of
configurations. Note that the system power consumption cannot be computed directly from the
individual power modules above due to less power used when operating in a system with sparing
components enabled.
