Position Title : AML Compliance Investigator
Position Overview
The primary focus of the position will be to manage and monitor all aspects of the BSA/AM and
!"AC #rograms in accordance with Ban$ policies and go%ernmental regulations &including '(C)
BSA/AM) !"AC) and the *SA #atriot Act+ and guidance) and to identify new/re%ised statutes
and regulations and emerging ris$s impacting the Ban$. ,n addition) the BSA/AM !fficer is
responsible for maintaining a compliance management strategy that reduces ris$) promotes
operational efficiency and fosters high -uality customer) and for supporting the Chief Compliance
!fficer./(.
Day to Day Responsibilities
BSA/AM/!"AC #olicies and #rocedures and Compliance #rogram
**Monitor legal and regulatory re-uirements related to anti.money laundering and anti.terrorist
financing) including the BSA) *SA #atriot Act) and !"AC regulations) and guidance from
regulators.
**Ad%ise senior management and management of the appropriate areas within the /ew (or$
Branch of new and pending laws) regulations) regulatory changes and emerging ris$s that
potentially affect the /( Branch0s business practices) policies and procedures as they relate to
anti.money laundering and anti.terrorist financing re-uirements and !"AC. Consult with legal
counsel when necessary.
**,dentify) assess and communicate to senior management the legal) regulatory and compliance
ris$s related to BSA/AM including '(C and !"AC. 1e%elop a Compliance #rogram for
BSA/AM and !"AC ris$s. 2ecommend ris$ mitigation actions including internal controls when
appropriate.
**Ad%ise senior management on BSA/AM and !"AC compliance issues relating to the
de%elopment of or changes to products and ser%ices.
**Create) update) and re%iew compliance policies) procedures and guidance/tools related to
BSA/AM including '(C and !"AC.
,n accordance with policy) re%iew and appro%e new accounts) including corporate and
correspondent accounts.
**,n accordance with the appro%ed compliance program) o%ersee the compliance testing and
monitoring program with respect to compliance with BSA/AM and !"AC policies and
procedures. 1eficiencies detected through the monitoring and testing program will be discussed
with the appropriate management and correcti%e action recommended. Compliance will monitor
the ade-uacy and timeliness of correcti%e action ta$en by management.
Transaction Monitoring
**Conduct the transaction monitoring process) including flags and e3ceptions generated through
4CS and re%iew of non.4CS monitoring processes) specifically including correspondent ban$ing.
1etermine the need for further follow.up actions or in%estigati%e action.
**4nsure all flags) e3ceptions and monitoring acti%ities are conducted and completed and
documented on a timely basis.
**#erform an annual re%iew of the efficiency and effecti%eness of the transaction monitoring
processes. 2ecommend necessary and desirable changes or enhancements to the CC!.
**#ro%ide o%ersight to processes that ensure that at least annually a maintenance re%iew is
completed on the 4CS system including transaction code mapping) updating country ris$
information) and 4CS administration user and access rights.
**!%ersee the process for updating !"AC and "inC4/ 567&a+ lists) re%iewing 8hits9) and
determining any false positi%es in a timely manner. 2eport any matches to the CC! with
recommended action.
SA2s #rocess
**2e%iew results of analysis and in%estigations and determine if a SA2 should be filed.
2ecommend to the CC! those case where filing a SA2 is warranted. 4nsure that the SA2
in%estigati%e process and the filing of reports are completed in accordance with SA2 policy and
procedure.
**As necessary communicate with law enforcement officials as follow up to SA2s filings.
Training
**Assist senior management in educating staff on compliance issues and acting as a contact
point within the branch for -uestions related to BSA/AM and !"AC from staff members.
**,dentify training needs related to BSA/AM and !"AC for new and e3isting staff including
representati%es. Appro%e content of BSA/AM and !"AC training courses. !%ersee the training
process to ensure the BSA/AM and !"AC components for training in the Compliance #rogram
are achie%ed. 4nsure training re-uirements of Ban$ Secrecy Act are met.
Communication
**1e%elop and implement communications strategies including written) oral) ,nternet) email and
ad%isory newsletters to staff and /or specific units to foster the understanding of BSA/AM/!"AC
compliance ris$s) mitigating controls) policies and procedures.
**#articipate in meetings with staff and management to discuss BSA/AM/SA2s issues.
2egulatory) Audit and !ther 2e%iews
**"acilitate the branch0s acti%ities with regulators) internal and e3ternal auditors and independent
compliance re%iewers related to BSA/AM/!"AC compliance matters including preparation for
e3aminations/audits/re%iews) responding to re-uests for information) interaction with onsite with
regulatory/audit staff) participation in e3its re%iews and re-uired follow up acti%ities. #ro%ide
support during regulatory e3aminations and audits.

2eporting
** ,dentify information needs to pro%ide o%ersight to BSA/AM/!"AC operations and ris$s.
1e%elop needed M,S.
**#repare reports to senior management) o%ersight committees and :ead office relating to
BSA/AM/!"AC compliance ris$. 2eporting should include changes in the compliance ris$
profile) a summary of any identified breaches and/or deficiencies detected through unit self.
assessments) compliance testing) regulatory e3aminations) audits or other means and the
correcti%e measures recommended to address the wea$nesses detected. 2eporting should
include a summary on the timeliness and ade-uacy of correcti%e actions underta$en.
!ther
** Support the Chief Compliance !fficer./( in carrying out the BSA/AM and !"AC
compliance duties.
Qualiications Re!uire"
#nowle"ge:
Must ha%e a comprehensi%e understanding of ;eneral Ban$ing compliance regulations and
ban$ policies.
Ban$ Secrecy Act &AM/'(C+.
*SA #atriot Act &Anti.Terrorist "inancing) correspondent ban$ing and Customer ,dentification
#rogram+.
!ffice of "oreign assets Control &!"AC+.
"inC4/ 567&a+ and 567&b+.
43tensi%e understanding of internal control structure to ensure proper assessment of ris$ and
ma$e recommendations for impro%ement.
An understanding of law enforcement needs as it relates to the de%elopment of information
through the in%estigati%e process.
Tec$nical %&ills:
Able to use %arious in.house software

Money laundering pre%ention software
Able to use %arious research databases related to '(C such as internet searches %ia
;oogle/(ahoo and <orld Compliance systems.
Competencies:
Ability to research laws and regulations and ma$e recommendations as to the applicability
within a particular control en%ironment.
Able to understand basic process controls and to apply the regulations to the process.
Able to re%iew control issues and determine the regulatory ris$s.

Ability to manage staff) temporary consultants and pro=ects from formulation to completion
'(perience )ee"e": Minimum fi%e to ten years e3perience in Ban$ing) with at least
fi%e years e3perience in AM compliance. 43pertise in anti.money laundering management and
compliance o%ersight> Strong $nowledge of BSA) AM) *SA #atriot Act) !"AC and other rele%ant
regulations.
'"ucation Re!uire": Bachelors degree in a related discipline
License*Certiication+s,: CAMS or comparable certification preferred.
