I. All about food
A. You used adjectives to describe your favorite food. Apart from that, there is a wide
range of vocabulary that describes every food experience. Look at the list of words in
the first column below pertaining to the taste, smell, texture, appearance, and special
features of food.

B. Now, examine each of these words and look for its origin. Write in the Root Word
column the root of each of the words. For example, the root of the word spicy is spice.

Explanation
The rootword is the simplest structure of the word. It has no affix nor
inflectional ending. An affix is a letter, sound, or a syllable added at either the
beginning or the last part of the word to form another word. It is called a prefix if it is
placed initially in the rootword; a suffix, if it is at the end of the word.
