Goals and Strategies for 2013-2014

Goal 1. Collaborate with teachers to increase


student achievement through the use of
library resources.
Support to Campus Improvement Plan: Increase
student achievement scores through collaboration
with teachers to incorporate the use of library
resources in classroom curriculum.
Strategy 1: Attend weekly PLCs and staff meetings to
communicate student needs to increase mastery in
reading, math and science
Strategy 2: Promote and advertise current resources
to both the staff and the students once a month
Strategy 3: Create opportunities to plan and/or co-
teach various lessons with the staff that utilize library
resources once a week with each grade level teacher
once a month.
Strategy 4: Seek teacher recommendations in the
purchasing of resources that support student
achievement in all academic areas by the end of the
first six weeks.
Goal 2: Maintain a current well diversed
collection that supports the campus/district
goals, students needs, and supports the
library program.
Support to Campus Improvement Plan: Increase
student achievement scores in Science and Social
Studies.
Strategy 1: Provide resources that reflect the
community of learners ongoing.
Strategy 2: Update the fiction and nonfiction resources
as well as the magazine collection to reflect the
students interest once every six weeks.
Strategy 3: Introduce one current and new resources
like e-books and reference materials through the library
web page, media center, or OPAC once a month.
Strategy 4: Routinely weed to eliminate inaccurate or
outdated information as well as torn and worn
resources
Goal 3: Increase the use of the library for
equal access beyond the school day.
Support to Campus Improvement Plan: Increase
student achievement scores through increased
access to library resources.
Strategy 1: Extend the library hours 15 minutes before
school on Wednesday and Thursday, and 15 minutes
after school on Monday Tuesday for student access
Strategy 2: Maintain library webpage, reference
resources, e-books, etc, for student, parent, and staff
access
Strategy 3:Incorporate motivational activities that
include book clubs or online guest speakers to develop
a love of reading once every six weeks.
Strategy 4: Incorporate one faculty meeting monthly to
advertise new resources and materials

Special Projects
Project : Replace the computer tables so that
they are smaller and can be centrally located
so that they are spacious for student and
teacher use.

Timeline: To be complete during the summer of 2014

Expense: None, Item will be constructed by district
maintenance.
