Introduction of ACS Seminar Organized by the Association of Asian Classification Societies (ACS)
Today, Asian ship owners operate nearly half of the worlds merchant fleet and Asian countries build about 90% of all new ships. As global trade patterns have shifted eastwards and more and more decision- making takes place in Asia, the Asian maritime community needs to clearly express a stronger and more influential Asian voices in the international maritime arena.
To that end, ACS organizes regular technical seminars in the Asian regions. ACS is an association of six classificiation socieites headquartered in Asia namely BKI, CCS, ClassNK, IRS, KR and VR. The ACS Seminar on Shipping and Shipbuilding 2014 in Indonesia will focus on safety and environmental topics and recent International regulatory developments bringing together members of the Asian maritime community and regional maritime professionals.
