Overview GateCycle predicts design and off-design performance of combined-cycles, fossil boiler plants, cogeneration systems, combined heat- and-power plants, nuclear plants, advanced gas turbine cycles and many other energy systems in one package. GateCycles component-by- component approach, together with its advanced macro capabilities, enables modeling of virtually any type of system. Benefits Specifically developed to help you simulate power plants of any configuration. Analyzes combined-cycle and fossil boiler power plants at all operating points. Features The flexibility of GateCycle is what makes it different from other heat balance software. GateCycle's built-in off-design correlations enable you to quickly and accurately predict component and system performance at various operating points. Applications GateCycle is used for quick assessments, detailed engineering, design, retrofitting, repowering and acceptance testing applications. Unsurpassed flexibility the hallmark of GateCycle Building GateCycle models has never been easier or faster GE Energy Services simulation solutions CycleLink CycleLink is a powerful utility based on Microsoft Excel that allows users full access to model data within GateCycle. At the simplest level, you can use this utility to read any GateCycle data into a spread- sheet. With the data, you can customize your output or perform additional analysis on the output (e.g. financial analysis). At a higher level, CycleLink can be used for running case studies of cycles. You may change input data and run your models all from within Excel. If you combine CycleLink with the macro functions of Excel, you can make sophisticated custom interfaces to the cycle models. With CycleLink, an engineer can make customized interfaces to his or her own models. This allows the engineer to deliver full working Cycle models to end- users who do not have to know how to run GateCycle. All they need to know is how to use a simple spreadsheet! Model Optimization Our current version of GateCycle now has a flexible user defined optimization feature. This feature allows the user to select the GateCycle variables that define almost any objective function from an easy to use graphical user interface. Possible applications for the optimization feature include: The optimization of design point cycle parameters The optimization of off design cycle parameters Validation of measured plant data Customize the CycleLink interface to any GateCycle model Macros Macros are a flexible and powerful set of functions that enable you to set up arbitrary calculations and control relationships among GateCycle system and equipment icon inputs and calculated results.
