We all know that freely-given relatonships are one of the most crucial parts of life.

Do It Naturally: Building Connectons and Relatonships explores the natural, tme tested,
and efectve ways of connectng, developing and sustaining relatonships with one another.
We will look at the challenges that present themselves when working to facilitate contacts
and relatonships between people who are ofen excluded and those who are part of the
mainstream.
Connect with others and explore how friendships can be developed and maintained in all
stages and ages of life.

Note: This is a practcal workshop just for families and friends of a
person with disability including extended family.

Family Advocacy is a state wide advocacy organisaton concerned with the needs, interests and rights of
people who have developmental* disability. Our aim is to achieve positve social roles for people with
disability through the development of advocacy by families and by strengthening the knowledge, role
and infuence of the family.
*Developmental disability includes but is not limited to: autsm, intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, spina bifda and multple disability.

Darcy Elks is an educator, consultant, evaluator and advocate. Darcy is the
mother of three children, one of whom has a disability. Darcy is passionate
about creatng inclusive communites where peoples gifs and atributes can
fourish. Darcy has an in depth knowledge of working with people who are
marginalised in society. Through positve encouragement of social value and
inclusion for people with disability , Darcy addresses the issue of those who
are devalued in society in a practcal and proactve way. Darcy's thinking and
work has been very infuenced by her daughter Mary's life experiences and
her presentatons refect both personal and professional perspectves.
