5 Application Documents
Applicants can apply online through the APU Admissions Offce website. However, only the required documents below
marked with a can be submitted online. Documents that are not marked with a must be submitted by post. If you
do not wish to submit your application online, you may download the application materials from our website, fll in all
required information and submit this by post.
IMPORTANT
1. Applicants are to complete the application form and related documents by themselves. English-basis students
should write in English while Japanese-basis students should write in Japanese.
2. Applicants must submit original certifcates. For documents that are neither written in English nor Japanese,
please attach an offcial translation with the translators name, contact details and signature. ONLY translations
by the document-issuing organizations, translation companies and certifed translators will be accepted.
3. Only original documents that cannot be reissued will be returned to the applicants upon request.
4. Acceptance to APU will be revoked if any false information or forgeries are found within the submitted
documents, even after enrollment.
Required Documents for All Applicants
1. Undergraduate
Application Form
Applicants must complete all forms by themselves and attach a photograph
directly to the application form in the provided space.
2. Application Essay Please follow the application essay guidelines within the application form.
Applicants must complete the essay by themselves.
3. Certifcate of
Eligibility / Resident
Status Questionnaire
Please follow the questionnaire guidelines within the application form.
Applicants must complete the questionnaire by themselves.
4. Proof of Application
Fee Payment
If you wish to pay by bank transfer, please send a copy of your payment
receipt and if you wish to pay by bank check, please send the check by post.
For those paying the application fee by credit card, please complete the
payment online by registering with My APU 2015 through the Admissions
Offce website. Please include your My APU Login ID on your application
form.

5. Academic
Transcripts
Academic Transcript Requirements
Those applicants yet to graduate from high school are required to submit 2 -
2.5 years of their current academic transcript.
Applicants who do not satisfy the 12 years of standard education
Applicants must also complete part of a university or other higher
education degree in order to apply to APU. However, this does not apply
to those who completed 12 years of education at an international school
(or are scheduled to complete 12 years of education at an international
school).
Additional Required Documents
For those who have taken the following examinations, submit the offcial
result certifcate/transcript together with your application.
Mandatory or standardized national test results to enter university
(applicable only to those who have taken such an examinations):
Senior Secondary School Certifcate Examination Results, GCE
AS Level/A Level, (for GCE A Level, applicants from Sri Lanka and
Singapore must submit results from three subjects and all other
international applicants must submit a minimum of two subjects), Abitur,
Baccalaureate, International Baccalaureate (predicted score accepted),
GED, etc.
Standardized test result certificates (only for those who have taken them):
EJU - Examination for Japanese University Admission for International
Students (Japan and the World + Mathematics (Course 1)), SAT
(Critical Reading + Mathematics + Writing), ACT, etc.
For those students who have taken the SAT, ACT or GCE (Sri Lanka)
examinations, please have your score report forwarded directly to APU.
For the SAT, the institution code is 2791.
For the ACT, the institution code is 5475.
If a certifcate has not recently been published, a certifed copy, equivalent to the
original, may be accepted if forwarded from the issuing authority. However, the
original may be required in some instances.
6. Documents proving
English/Japanese
Profciency
Please submit the results from one of the English or Japanese language
profciency Exams listed on p. 7 Requirement 2: Language Profciency.
Your exam results are valid for 2 years from the date of the test up until the
date of application (either the postmarked date of your submitted application
or the recorded date of your completed online application).
