As we step out into the unknown, we discover that we can be fragile and strong, and terrified and brave all at the same time Paul S. Boynton July September 2014 A great thought on Leadership
In 2015 we will be having our first School of Worship. This is a great 12-week course (followed by an 8-12 week field assignment) imparting foundational values & principles to those aiming to serve in worship among the nations. School of Worship explores the dynamics & aspects of worship, including leadership, intercession, spiritual warfare, creativity and musicianship. Big News for YWAM Destination Paradise! Trained leaders lead well, but that does not make them a transformational leader. What I have discovered about people of transformation is that, number one; they have a calling in life. They do not have a career; they feel called to make a difference. They are also leaders who have a purpose; they have a cause; they have something that they literally stand upon that purpose being to change lives in a positive way. You see, training enlarges, but transformation changes! John C. Maxwell Pictures with some of the beautiful staff girls I get to work with Ashley (above) Ally (below).
lorem ipsum dolor issue, date 2 About 9 months ago I was asked, What are you afraid of? I waited and processed that question for a while; my mind completely blank up until the speaker for the week confronted me, asking me directly. Zoe, What are you afraid of? Without the ability to stop the words coming out of my mouth, without being able to consciously know what I was about to say until I heard myself say it, I said I am afraid of being powerful. Afraid of being Powerful? I have had the realization that in actual fact; it's not about me! As soon as I heard myself say it I knew it was true, but what did it mean? This is something that I have attempted to process and understand since. And as you may have guessed I found the answer just yesterday Its not about me! Let me give you a slight insight into my thought process. As a leader in YWAM you have so much responsibility. Students spend, months and sometimes years saving up and dreaming for their DTS. I have the privilege to facilitate the Spirit during their time on the campus here in Belize; I have the responsibility. This is a fact. This is a truth. However it is not about me. It is not about what I can do, not about how I do it, not about the way I say something if I say it, not about if I dont say it. Its all about how I facilitate the Spirit. All I have to do is be the conduit through which God can flow.
I am just the conduit through which God can flow Its not about me being powerful, its about Him being powerful through me. To use the gifts that He has blessed me with, to do the things He asks of me, to be the person that said Yes God, send me. Despite the idea of having responsibility as a leader, yes that is still true, it is still a fact; the truth also lies in that I have the luxury of handing over control to God.
