Pakistan is blessed with special consecration of nature, it has different
cities in which culture and heritage are very rich. The Bahawalpur is
one of the blessed city which has number of specialties, its not be wrong, if we call Bahawalpur
as the amazing city of Pakistan.
It is 12

largest city of Pakistan, famous for its Palaces, Historical places, & Prominent Educational
Institutions. It is former princely state in Pakistan. The imposing forts, magnificent state of the
arts building and the shrines of Uch are a living testimony of the city. At the same time it was also
becoming strategically very important city for Pakistan in business point of view. It lies at the
center of Pakistan and connect Karachi to Khyber. All business trades have to pass through
Bahawalpur.
Bahawalpur City is not an ancient one but possess glorious traditions. It was established about
200 years back by Nawab Bahawal Khan I as a capital of the Bahawalpur State. It enjoyed this
status till 1954 when the state merged in Pakistan.
In Bahawalpur one can find the best education, health, administrative and judicial institutions. It
has become a Mega city in terms of Real Estate, Parks, Markets and Institutions. The glorious
palaces in the city enhances its beauty. Above all the clean and peaceful environment of the city
has made it worth living and growing.
City of Peace
In recent few years, Pakistan is facing horrible terrorism which badly effect the peace, livelihood,
and economy of the country. However Bahawalpur is quiet lucky and blessed city known as City
of Peace. It is a city of peace and harmony having calm and secure environment which makes it
a city worth living.

Bahawalpur is a city enriched with cultural traditions and glorious palaces which enhance its
beauty. There are number of beautiful palaces i.e., Noor Mehal, Darbar Mehal, Gulzar Mehal,
Neshat Mehal, Farukh Mehal, and Sadiq Garh Palace due to these beautiful state of the arts
building in Bahawalpur. It is also known as City of Palaces.

City of Education
Bahawalpur has always been considered as a city of knowledge due to famous educational
institutes. Students from all over the country prefer to come to Bahawalpur to seek education
from school to university level.
Some of famous institutes are; Sadiq Public School (One of the largest school in Asia), Sadiq Dane
High School, Abbasia High School, Technical High School and similarly Sadiq Egerton College
(Established in 1886), Quaid-e-Azam Medical College, and The Islamia University of Bahawalpur.
Famous educational institutes also open their sub campuses due to very good infrastructure.
These are; Army Public School, Convent School, The City School, Becan House School, Punjab
College, Superior College, NCBA&E, Sargodha University, Virtual University, and Allama Iqbal
Open University are at the top of the list.
Strategically Importance & Business Potential
This area is extremely important regarding national defense and from a strategic point of view.
As, Bahawalpur is located at the center of Pakistan and all business trade (through road and
railway) from Karachi to Khyber have to cross Bahawalpur. And it creates big opportunities for
potential investors to invest in various sectors especially in value addition products, automobiles
industry, hoteling, livestock, poultry, leather, textile, and lot more.
Although in Bahawalpur, making of delicate and decorated earthenware is one of the traditional
crafts. These earthenwares display the skill of the artisans. Decorated lampshades and flower-
vases are also made from camel skin in some parts of the district which can be export. Hand
embroidery work on shirts is yet another spatiality of the area. Other crafts include Basket
Making, Mukesh Work, Gota Work, Cholistani Aplec work, cotton and Woollen Durries, Patch
Work, Jewelry Work etc. If businessmen invest in these sector and make export channels then
these beautiful products can enjoy big profits and good reputation all around the world.
Bahawalpur Chamber of Commerce (BCCI) playing very positive role in term of supporting
business and creating new business opportunities for investors. In last few year they arrange lot
of awareness seminars, create big opportunities for new investors, and also made linkages in
international market, which obviously proof to be bright feature in business point of view.
