If you receive this newsletter you are probably on a Relay Team. What does that mean to you? Do you help with your team fund raisers or
do you only come to Relay and get your T-shirt while the rest of your team has worked all year long raising money? Will you spend 19 hours
camping & helping with your team's on-site fund raiser or will you go home & sleep in your comfy bed after spending a couple of hours at
Harmon Field?
Do you think people with cancer can say, "I've had enough, I'm going home & leaving cancer behind." You know they can't, that is why
we are "Relaying." To give of your time is the most precious gift you can give.
I challenge each & every one of you to come to our Relay, stay from the Friday, 6 p.m. Celebrate Ceremony, the 9 p.m. Remember
Luminaria Ceremony until the conclusion of the Fight Back Ceremony at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Show our Survivors, your friends, neighbors
and other Relayers that you are willing to give up a small amount of time to show that you care. You don't have to walk every minute during
our Relay, take turns with your teammates. Enjoy the entertainment on stage and the Guitar Hero Contest in the Survivor Tent. Support the
All Relay Meetings are at 6:30 p.m. at Home Savings Bank, Wapakoneta Concessions and other food stands. Encourage everyone in your family to play the many carnival games that will be available. Get out of your

 Why I Relay
Jackie Hagar: My husband of 50 years is my reason to relay. After
an elevated PSA result our family doctor referred us to a specialist.
This was in 2000. Thanks to early detection he was treated with the
latest method for his cancer. He was lucky the treatment worked
real well. No chemo was necessary just radiation treatments. Now
8 years later he is still cancer free, I have since lost a 37 year old
nephew, whom left a wife and two children. I have a first cousin
who will never see her son married or more grandchildren. This is
just a few of many friends whom have not been so lucky. Research
and early detection are very important.
Jacob Dodds, age 11: I’m the captain of my team -- TSC’s
Purple Stars. We fly like the wind around the track raising money
and bringing hope. I care so much because I was there once.
I don’t remember the pain like a knife
I can’t feel the fear that grabs and won’t let go
