This document is the manual for the Signal Processing Lab at Suresh Gyan Vihara University. It contains 10 experiments related to signal processing using MATLAB and DSP kits. The first experiment aims to carry out convolution in both continuous time and discrete time systems using MATLAB. The algorithm and programs for continuous and discrete convolution are provided, along with sample input/output sequences.

Experiment No.1 CONVOLUTION
Aim: To carry out convolution in both continuous time and discrete time systems. Apparatus: MATLAB software Theory: Algorithm 1. Get two signals x(m)and h(p)in matrix form or in continous form. 2. The convolved signal is denoted as y(n) 3. y(n)is given by the formula
4. Stop % Program for continous convolution clc; clear all; close all; t1=0: pi/8:2*pi; t2=0: pi/4:2*pi; x= sin (t1); h= cos (t2); y=conv(x,h); figure; subplot (3,1,1); plot(x);ylabel('Amplitude --.'); xlabel('(a) time --.'); subplot(3,1,2); plot(h);ylabel('Amplitude --.'); xlabel('(b) time --.'); subplot(3,1,3); plot(y); ylabel('Amplitude --'); xlabel ('(c) time --.'); disp ('The resultant signal is');y Output
