Topic: The Human Body Subject (s) to be integrated:

Generalization: the body is made up of organs which help it to function.

Concepts: heart, lungs, kidneys, stomach, brain, muscles, intestines

Objectives:

List the names of some internal organs of the human body.

Identify internal and external organs of the human body on a diagram.

State at least one function of some internal organs of the human body that are
displayed.

Match some internal organs of the human body to their function.

Set Induction:

Students will review and continue working from the previous lesson incorporating
organs that were discussed before with the organs that still need to be discussed.
These include heart, lungs, kidneys, stomach, brain, muscles, and the small and large
intestines.


Learning Experiences:

A picture of a human body will be displayed on the board. The students will be asked
to examine a picture and state what they can see. The students will be given an
opportunity to list the organs of the body.

The students will be asked if there are any more organs that help the body to function.
They will then be asked to state where they can be found.

Students will explore some internal organs (brain, heart, lungs) and will discuss their
functions and participate in several interactive activities.

Students will be given an opportunity to participate in an interactive game where they
will label the parts of the body.

Assessment Procedures:

Students will be assessed based on their ability to complete interactive activities that
require them to match the internal body organs to their names and their function.

Closure:

Students will review what is the learned in the lesson by stating any new information
that they would have learned.

Students will ben be given the opportunity to manipulate the technology and play
online games related to what they would have done during the lesson.
