Soon afer passing the River Clyde,
world-famous for its shipbuilding
history, we stop on the bonnie banks

National Park, where the magnificent landscape has fired the
imagination of writers for centuries.
Our next port of call is the village of Aberfoyle, the gateway to
the Trossachs, where we stop for lunch. With its lochs, glens
and heather covered mountains this area is well known as the
Highlands in Miniature and was a favourite destination of Sir
Walter Scott, who used the location as the backdrop for his
novel Rob Roy and poem The Lady of the Lake.
Joining the coach, we pass through picturesque Callander

opportunity to stop for photos of the
Forth Bridge, built in 1890 and one of
the worlds most iconic railway
structures. We then cross the much
younger, but no less impressive,

of Fire, and golfers may wish to see the Golf Museum or the
grave of Young Tom Morris, the Links Course putting green,

the empire.
We pass through Galashiels and turn north on the A7 and

A wee dram?
Scotland has been blessed with many
icons think kilts, tartan, haggis, golf and
bagpipes but whisky is surely the most
appreciated throughout the world. So
what better place is there to experience
whisky than at The Glenturret Distillery,
the oldest in Scotland.
From Edinburgh we head north over the
Forth Road Bridge, stopping for a photo opportunity of what
is perhaps the eighth wonder of the world, the Forth Bridge.
We continue on through the beautiful countryside of Fife,
Kinross-shire and Perthshire to the banks of the River Tay, the
city of Perth and to the Hermitage, which some say is the most
beautiful woodland walk in Scotland. This leads us to Ossians
Hall, an 18th century mirrored summerhouse overlooking a
magnificent waterfall, and to some of Scotlands tallest trees.
A short drive takes us to Dunkeld, a small conservation town
sitting on the banks of the River Tay and in the shadows of the
ruined 13th century Cathedral. On the site of a 9th century
monastery, part of the original Cathedral is still in use as a local
church. Take time to walk round and see the Atholl Fountain
in the square containing craf shops, cafes and hotels or take a
stroll along the river.
Continuing through the beautiful Highland countryside, we
reach The Glenturret Distillery, home of the Famous Grouse.
Theres an opportunity to tour the oldest working distillery in
Scotland, see how you measure up to the worlds largest bottle
of whisky, and sample a wee dram.
On our way back to Edinburgh, we journey through Gleneagles,
home of the world famous golf course and venue for the 2014
Ryder Cup, and then view from our coach Stirling Castle and
the Wallace Monument.
Please note that during bad weather, the Hermitage Walk may not be available.
Prices are for transport and guided coach tour only.
