INTRODUCTION
A commercial building is a building that is used
for commercial use. Types can include office buildings, warehouses,
or retail. In urban locations, a commercial building often combines
functions, such as an officeon levels 2-10, with retail on floor 1. Local
authorities commonly maintain strict regulations on commercial zoning,

While offices can be built in almost any location and in almost any
building, some modern requirements for offices make this more difficult.
These requirements can be both legal or technical . Alongside, other
requirementssuchassecurityandflexibilityof layout hasledtothe requirements such as security and flexibility of layout, has led to the
creation of special buildingswhich are dedicated only or primarily for
use as offices. Anoffice building, also known as anoffice blockor
business centre is a form of commercial buildingwhich contains spaces
mainly designed to be used for offices.
PURPOSE
Theprimary purposeof anofficebuildingis toprovideaworkplaceand
working environment primarily for administrative and managerial
workers. These workers usually occupy set areas within the office
building, andusually areprovidedwithdesks, PCs andother equipment g, y p , q p
theymayneedwithintheseareas.
Anofficebuildingwill bedividedinto sections for different companies
or may bededicated to onecompany. In either case, each company will
typicallyhaveareceptionarea, oneor several meetingrooms, singular or

Many office buildings also have kitchen facilities and a staff room,
whereworkers canhavelunchor takeashort break. Many officespaces
