(July 27, 2014) Seventeenth Sunday in Ordinary Time The gospel tells about a man who found a treasure and sold all he had to possess it. Today Jesus tells married couples and parents to TOTALLY INVEST in the real treasures in our life: our faith, spouse, children and grandchildren. Marriage is not a 50-50 proposition and parenting is not a part time job.
322 Holy Hours were kept with Our Lord in Eucharistic Adoration last week. There is an open hour Monday 5-6 am. "Could you not watch one hour with me?" (MT. 26:40) If you have any questions on the Holy Hour program, please call Judy Soltis at 330-212-0926.
(Insert Graphic 1401-0020.tif) Dear Parishioners: I would like to express my thanks to Pat Postek for her 23 years of service to St. Augustine running the St. Monica Gift Shop. Unfortunately, we will not be re-opening the gift shop mainly due to the fact that many of the discounted religious suppliers have either been bought out or have gone out to of business. We can no longer pass on discounted prices to parishioners due to the higher costs. Therefore, the gift shop has become cost prohibitive. I thank all of our parishioners who have volunteered and made purchases over the years. A new use for the St. Monica Gift shop will be determined at a later date. Christs Peace! Fr. David
THANK YOU to the twenty-five people who volunteered their time and talents for the recent RUMMAGE SALE. Without your help it would not have been possible to raise the $2,300+ that was made. Lots of hard work went into the sale preparation, the sale itself, and the cleanup. Thank you also to all parishioners who donated goodies for the sale. Working together we were able to serve many people and make new friends in the process! Thank you again.
