YourName participated in a Youth Exchange program in West Ireland where they developed various skills and competences. As a member of Team B, YourName helped with tasks like setting up breakfast and cleaning. They also took responsibility for checking everyone was on the bus before departing on trips. Through workshops and interactions with other participants, YourName improved their communication skills in their native tongue and foreign languages. They also learned how to share photos and set up a video projection. The experience helped YourName learn to step outside their comfort zone, live with others from different cultures, and take initiative such as organizing hoodies for the group.

Tas! " responsibilit# of YourName$ As member of Team B I had to set up breakfast, wash up after dinner, clean the minibus, etc several times during the week. M individual task was to check that everone was in the bus before we left when we went on trips. I felt it was a ver responsible !ob. YourName developed the following competences during the Youth Exchange$ %ommunication in mother tongue I had to take an active part in the leadership workshops that we had ever da which I found difficult to do because I don"t reall like speaking in public. But it felt great overcoming that fear. I also helped the #utch with their $nglish, speaking to them more slowl than normal. %ommunication in foreign languages I learnt a few #utch words, but I have forgotten them alread% &athematical competence and basic competences in science and technolog# &othing reall ' mabe that I had to keep an ee on the little spending mone I brought with me in case I spent it all at the start of the (amp. 'igital competence )ne of the lads helped me set up an email account, and I started using facebook for the first time. I learnt how to leave comments on *ouTube videos I liked. I was able to share via Bluetooth some photos from m phone with other gus. I had to set up the video pro!ection and laptop one night. Learning to learn I thought I was going to learn stuff about how to help and lead other people but most of what I learnt at the workshops had to do with m own personal development and character. I should have been e+plained better how to fill in the *outh, ass form at the start of the (amp. I liked the wa the workshops on -ocial Media were ver interactive but there was not enough time to discuss each topic. I would have liked to have time to think about the stuff and discuss it a bit more the following da. I think I can put into practice some of the things we learnt if I don"t forget them all after a while. (ocial and civic competences I learnt that it is possible to live and have fun with people from other cultures. It was the first time that I had to share a room with someone who is not in m famil. That was weird at first but it worked out ).. I heard that there are was to protect our privac on /acebook and other social media. 0e learnt about stepping out of m comfort 1one, and I did that when we went gorge walking because I don"t like !umping from high places. (ense of initiative and entrepreneurship I suggested we get hoodies for the (amp, and I had to make it happen. $verone reall like the hoodies I got made. I had to fi+ the dishwasher because nobod knew how to use it. I organised games for the first evening but it didn"t work out ver well. ,erhaps I should have planned the games better in advance. I made a flagpole for the Irish flag with a fishing rod%% And I suggested we use hurling stick for the boat because we had no oars% %ultural awareness and expression I had to sing a sill song with m team at the last night show. I told a few !okes that I heard from one of the #utch because he didn"t know how to sa them in $nglish properl. )ther speci*c s!ills I had not ridden a biccle since I was a wee kid so it was cool to ccle around Aran islands. I don"t like swimming in rivers but I went in one of the das because it was fun.
