The Bureau of Land
Management Glasgow
Field Office is repairing
four dams in Valley
County at a combined cost
of $2.6 million.
The work is being
done by contractors from
the Central Montana and
Hi Line areas.
The primary
functions of the dams are
to control the flooding
associated with spring
runoff and high rainfall
events and provide a
reliable transportation
route to and through BLM
lands, said Dean Jensen,
the civil engineering
technician for the Glasgow
Field Office. In addition,
the dams provide seasonal
wetland habitats for
wildlife.
Dam reservoirs are
also water sources for
cattle grazing on BLM
managed lands.
There are 87 BLM-
managed dams in Valley
County. Jensen provides
oversight and quality
control for the projects.

A loud groan from the crowd rolled out of the grandstands
during the well-attended Ranch Rodeo when Lonnie took
a solid pop to the chops during the wild cow milking. But
cowboys are known to be a tough breed and it didnt
slow him down a bit; below he was enjoying Wylie and
the Wild West show along with a cool one.
