Introduction

The Indian Cultural Society (ICS) of Multimedia University®, Cyberjaya


Campus will be organizing Intracampus 2009 in the 2nd trimester of the year 09/10. This
event is a binding match between MMU Cyberjaya students. The event is mainly
organized to create a good relationship among Indian students and will lead us to our
annual event which is Intercampus that will be help in MMU Melaka. The event is
consisting of 9 types of outdoor and indoor sports to participate such as football,
volleyball, netball, basketball, badminton, hockey, kabadi and tug of the war. This would
also enable the students to show their talents and altogether their spirit of togetherness in
participating the events thus making the event a success. Besides that, by participating
such events, there is chance to keep students away from unhealthy activities and
encourage them to be an active students.
We have set a high goal, which can only be touched with the kindest support from
all parties. This goal needs the essence of motivation, encouragement and most
importantly cooperation. Only then will our aim reach its peak point of success.

Event Objective
 As one of the activity for the Indian Cultural Society.

 To nurture the spirit of working together cooperatively as one big family

 To provide the members with good exposure on aspects of sports events

 To establish the image of the Indian Cultural Society altogether in high profile of

Multimedia University.

 To create spirit of togetherness attitude among the Indian community

 To develop and enhance the unity and relationship among students from Melaka

Campus

 To install bravery among all involve including participants and committees.

 To promote sports as a healthy way of life between the students.

Event Justification and Basic Rules

Volleyball
1. Each Team must consist of 6 main players and 4 substitute players. This Rule
applies for both the Male Team and the Female Team.
2. Referee’s call is not questionable and considered final
3. Any misdoing or arguments that are caused by players will see the team
disqualified with no questions asked.

Basketball
1. 5 main players and 3 Substitutes from each team.
2. Substitutions are unlimited but can only be done when play is stopped. Only 1
Coach is allowed per team to oversee the substitutions. Supporters are not allowed
to crowd around the court confinement.
3. Referee’s call is not questionable and considered final
4. Any misdoing or arguments that are caused by players will see the team
disqualified with no questions asked.

Netball
1. A team must consist of 7 main players & 3 Substitutes.
2. Each half consists of 7 minutes of game play, played in 2 Halves with 1 minute
interval.
3. Referee’s call is not questionable and considered final
4. Any misdoing or arguments that are caused by players will see the team
disqualified with no questions asked

Hockey
1. A team must consist of 5 main players & 2 Substitutes.
2. Each half consists of 7 minutes of game play, played in 2 Halves with 1 minute
interval.
3. Referee’s call is not questionable and considered final
4. Any misdoing or arguments that are caused by players will see the team
disqualified with no questions asked

Badminton
1. A team must consist of:
a. 1 Single Male Player
b. 1 Single Female Player
c. Doubles Male
d. Doubles Female
e. Mixed Doubles
2. Games will be played in MMU Sports Complex.
3. We will play a total of 3 sets on a best of 3 bases to decide on the winner.
4. A player is allowed to represent in more than 1 event.
5. Any misdoing or arguments that are caused by players will see the team
disqualified with no questions asked.

Athletics
1. 3 major categories such as 100 m, 200m, and 4x1000m.
2. Will be based on Commonwealth standard rules and regulation

Football
1. Each team must consist of 11 main team players and 5 Substitutes.
2. A team is allowed to use up to 5 Substitutes in a game.
3. The match will be played on 20 minutes per half bases and a 5 minute break.
4. One team can accommodate up to 3 NON INDIAN PLAYERS only.
5. Any misdoing or arguments that are caused by player will see him getting a
STRAIGHT RED and might cause the team for disqualification.

Kabaddi
1. In a match, each team has twelve players; seven take the ground at a time and
the remaining five are reserved.
2. The duration of a match is of two halves of 15 minutes. The courts are changed
after interval.
3. The side that scores the highest number of points at the end of the game is
declared the winner. If there's a tie, two extra periods of five minutes each are
played immediately. The game in the extra time is continued with the same
number of players, as there were at the end of the second half.

Tug of War
1. There are 2 categories for this sport. Male and Female.
2. Each team must consist of 10 people.
3. Referee’s call is not questionable and considered final.

disqualified with no questions asked.

Points System to decide Overall Champion


1. Each win will award the corresponding team 1point.
2. For Badminton- a win by 3-0/ 3-2 will decide the overall winner.
3. All points will be accumulated till the end of the Carnival.

Conclusion

Throughout this paper, Intracampus is seen to be a successfull event. It will


establish and enhancing a strong mutual relationship between the students of
MMU Cyberjaya and will also lead to a good relationship with MMU Melaka. For
all this point of view, it is relevant and everyone should give high encouragement
and suppport to ensure this event successful. Thank You.
