The Story:
The vast, continent-spanning city of Collosatropolis has fnally reached the limits of
its expansion. Tall buildings cover every available space. The air is thick with smoke
and poisonous chemicals. Parking is a nightmare.

The Collosotropolan leaders have decided the simplest solution is to invade the
neighboring country of ungola. They don!t anticipate much of a struggle -
ungolans are simple, earthy types without much love for industry. "n fact,
ungola!s entire defense force consists of a single s#uadron of fghter planes - the
venerable $-%& 'Platypus.'
But how much of a threat can a few antique aircraft be?
Brief Synopsis:
Help the antique Platypus craft defeat the hordes of invaders from Collosatropolis in the beautiful
clay animated shooter!
Your Goal:
(our goal is to guide your ship, )Platypus*, through + areas and %, levels, eventually
making your way into the heart of Collosatropolis- destroying everything in your
path along the way.
Controls:
When Platypus starts, you will be able to select which controller to use for each people. here
are three choices!
"ouse # "ove the mouse to move your ship, press the left mouse button to shoot.
$oystic%&'amepad # "ove the controller to control the ship, any button will fire.
(eyboard # "ove with your arrow %eys, shoot with the ctrl %ey or space bar.
Enemies:
There are two basic kinds of enemies in Platypus, primary and secondary. Primary
enemies are large, and take many shots to destroy. -econdary enemies are small
ships that take only one or two shots to kill. .t the end of each level, you will
receive bonus points based on how many of each are destroyed.
Powerups:
When you destroy certain formations of secondary enemies, you will have the chance to acquire
powerups for your ship. )ou collect these powerups by maneuverin* your ship over a star that
has spawned when the formation was destroyed. here are five different %inds of powerups!
Wide +hot ,yellow star-! his will shot a spread pattern of bullets.
.utofire ,blue star-! )ou shoot bullets at a very fast rate.
+onic Pulse ,*reen star-! )ou shoot a wide and destructive ener*y burst.
/oc%ets ,red star-! )ou will launch very powerful missiles.
0i*htnin* ,cyan star-! +hoot devastatin* li*htnin* bolts at your enemies.
1n occasion, you can also shoot the stars before collectin* them, which can chan*e their color
and *ive you different powerups. When you have a powerup, there will be a small counter in the
upper2left corner of the screen. When this counter reaches 3ero, your powerup will be *one2 so
ma%e sure you *et the most from it!
Balloons and Crates:
.t certain sta*es of the *ame, balloons will be floatin* up from the bottom of screen. +hoot the
crates and collect the special bonuses that fall from them. hese bonuses include!
Weapon Pods # hese will attach to your ship, *ivin* you e4tra firepower!
56 # his will double the points for each enemy you destroy.
Coins # Coins are worth e4tra points.
Fruit:
When you destroy primary enemies, fruit will often fly into the air. .fter all, the
Collosotropolans have to eat too! Collect this fruit for e4tra points. 7or even more points, shoot
the fruit into smaller pieces2 then collect.
Credits:
.t the bottom of the screen, there will be an indicator tellin* you how many 8credits9 you have
left. hin% of a credit as a 8continue9. :ach time you lose all your lives, you can use a credit to
continue your *ame. When you;re out of credits, you won;t be able to continue anymore.
Free Lives:
(ou will be awarded free lives when your score surpasses each of the following
totals/
