Ozoa Family Reunion

August 16, 2014 Meeting Agenda

This much anticipated event is scheduled for June 26 - 28, 2015. Many thanks to Susan Ozoa and
family for setting up the Ozoa Reunion Facebook site, and newsletters. And many thanks to Erwin Ozoa
who liked the idea of having a reunion so much that he personally contributed $1000 to make sure it
happens. Their e!orts generated much momentum, and it is in this spirit that we gather to make some
decisions today. NOTE: The meeting will be limited to no more than ONE HOUR after lunch. To
expedite matters, if youre planning on joining us, please jot down your thoughts regarding each of the
following PRIOR TO COMING TO THE MEETING. Youre awesome! THANK YOU!
Review
It was previously decided that:
the event would be held over a 3 day weekend: June 26 - 28, 2015
the beach event would be held at Ali`i Beach Park in Hale`iwa
we should establish an Ozoa Reunion Fund
Thanks to Erwin Ozoa, there is a start up fund of $1000. The amount was deposited into a checking
account with HawaiiUSA Federal Credit Union. Two signatures are required to write a check. The
designated signers are: Doreen Johnson and Cyndy Sumbad.
Purpose of this meeting
Decide what we want to see happen on each of the three days; initiate discussions regarding T-Shirts
and need for fundraising. Please Note: decisions are NOT set-in-stone and are subject to change.
They meant to serve as guidelines for budgeting, fundraising and other planning purposes.
Friday, June 26
Suggestions: First Cousins Dinner (individuals pay their own); Karaoke Night (open to all; individuals pay
own); Banquet for all (who pays?)
Saturday, June 27
Distribution of Reunion T-Shirts; Family Fun Day at Ali`i Beach Park in Hale`iwa; Getting-to-Know-You
Activities; Entertainment (sing, dance, etc.); Special Activities for Children (Bouncy house & ball pit,
magic show, clown, face painting); Other games (egg/spoon race, water balloon toss, donut on a string,
sack race, etc.) NOTE: Need individuals to take care of di!erent activities. Any volunteers?
Pay for tent and chairs? Suggestion: To save money, everyone brings their own tent/chairs to share
with outside islanders and mainlanders as appropriate.
Pay for food? (NOTE: Kristilyn Charisse volunteered to look into prices once we decide to cater and
have a better head count)
Sunday, June 28
Suggestion: Farewell Breakfast (Open to all; who pays for breakfast?). Wrap-up activities: distribution of
Ozoa directory, and Ozoa Recipes/Cookbook? Distribution of Family Tree?

T-Shirts
Suggestion: A color to represent each branch of the family tree (i.e. blue to represent Uncle Bills
Family, orange to represent Auntie Lenas Family, etc.)
Suggestion: One color and one design for everyone (probably most cost e!ective)
Should we pay for this?
Is Neidene still creating the design? Design Contest (prize?)?

What will the Ozoa Fund take care of?

Susan volunteered to be in charge of the fundraising on Lanai. Whos in charge of the fundraising on
Oahu?
