I want to thank
everyone for your
expressions of support
to Nicky and I regarding
her Grandmother's
recent illness and passing away.
Esther passed away on Sunday about
30min after we had left for home. In the
end I felt we made the right decision to
go over and to spend that time with
her. Nicky got to stay the whole night
and from the moment we arrived she
was more settled and peaceful and did
not require morphine again. It was like
she was waiting for us and when we
left it was time for her to let go as well.
The funeral was on Thursday and I
was blessed to be able to take it.
Thank you once again for your prayers.
We have felt strongly supported by the
Parish and all you have done has been
much appreciated.
AGM AND NOMINATIONS
The AGM will be on the 19th of April
immediately after the 10:30am service
at Cobden. We will have a quick cuppa
and then reconvene for our
LIBRARIAN
discussions. Those presenting reports
like the wardens and ministry team
leaders will need to get busy soon.
Also we are looking for nominations for
vestry members and people's warden.
TAX REBATES AND GIVING
Last year the Govt changed the tax
rebates on charitable donations.
Previously you could claim a 1/3 of
what you gave up to a maximum of
$630. Any giving above $1890 was not
eligible for a rebate. The Govt realising
how a cap on rebateable giving could
limit giving to charity decided to do
away it altogether to encourage people
to give more. So now you can claim a
1/3 back no matter how much you give.
Give $10,000 and you can get $3,333
back instead of just $630. The new
rules came into effect last year and
people will already be benefiting from
this, but to do so you need to be on the
parish envelope system. See Tim if you
would like more info on this matter.
Lawn Mowing Roster

FRIENDSHIPS KIDS
BOARD REQUIRED Starts its 2009 year on TUESDAY
Benedikt Lang is a 17 year old German 17th. MARCH. This year our
Catholic student needing board from programme will commence at 6:30pm.
July til the end of the year in Finishing at 7:45pm. We had a
Greymouth. He speaks English. His rewarding time last year and the
children were a pleasure to teach. We
hobbies are many and varied. He also
works at setting up sound equipment look forward to having them back for
another year.
