While in the US, I attended the
2nd annual International
Wholistic Missions Conference. I
met Dave Briggs who is in
charge of Global Partnerships
for the Jesus Film Project.
They, along with Renew
Outreach Ministries, donated a
portable projector with the
Jesus Film in many of the
surrounding areas local
languages. Working with local
churches committed to making
disciples, we are showing films
and doing teachings using this
system. If we do not build
relationships and follow up with
each person, we are not
fulfilling the great commission.
I believe His Word and His
promises and I want others to
walk through this life fearlessly
even in the face of the
unknown, of danger and
possible death. Then Jesus
approached them and told
them, All authority in heaven
and on earth has been given to
me. Therefore, as you go, disciple
people in all nations, baptizing
them in the name of the Father,
and the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to obey everything
I have commanded you. And
remember I am with you each
and every day until the end of
the age. Matthew 28:18-20
WoH and Jesus Film Ministry
Kinyiba Backs WoH and We Win a Great Victory!
Over 2 years, a neighbor has
come against WoH 3 times,
each time when I was gone.
The 1st time he complained to
the landlords about where we
were placing our buildings;
after he spent a week in jail
over a cattle matter. The 2nd
time he wanted to stop the kids
from playing soccer on the WoH
field. He plowed up part of the
field to plant a crop on WoH
land. Then he spent 2 weeks
hospitalized from a machete
attack. The 3rd time he filed a
court case with the county and
then started digging on our
land. He said we had buried
bodies.
The elders jailed him and he
spent 2 weeks before being
released with warnings from
the high court that if he speaks
one word against WoH he will
be sent from the area forever!
Now you, Lord my God, defend
me for your names sake, be-
cause your gracious love is
good, deliver me! Psa109:21
Pray for Justin! I will be going
to him to try and make peace,
soon.

Our School Children End This Term in August
Mono Peter is in
nursery, He is 10 and so
happy to finally go to
school. He comes and
helps around WoH daily.
The students that you
support with donations
to WoH take their term
exams August 6-15th.
Right now we have 13
students. Two boys in
nursery, 7 in primary
school (1 boy, 6 girls)
and 4 girls in high
school. Eight are in
boarding school and the
other 5 attend day
school. Each one is
precious in their own
way and are so very
grateful to be able to
attend school in a coun-
try where under 30% of
the children receive an
education. I remind
them each time I see
them that they are the
FUTURE OF SOUTH
SUDAN and that future
can be a future serving
God or the world. Pray
that they choose God
and work hard!

I can do no great things, only
small things with great love
~Mother Teresa
A young mother, Poni, 17 years
old, had been bringing Kevina,
her 2 year old daughter to WoH
for 6 months, asking if we could
help her get treatment for her
congenital condition.
Thanks to the generous
donations that I carried back
from my April-May visit to the
US we were finally able to help.
The congenital defects around
her eyes and the bridge of her
nose were repaired. The
surgery was extensive. She
even had to have the bones
repaired at the bridge f her
nose.
Two mornings before we were
to leave for Kampala, Annet
brought her daughter, Florence,
to WoH after she had exhausted
all other resources. They had
been treating her foot here in
South Sudan for 4 months and
it continued to get worse; even
a small piece of bone was now
protruding from her heel.
We drove to Uganda on July 5th
leaving Annet and Florence at
the Catholic hospital in Gulu as
we continued to Kampala to
seek treatment for Kevina.
After several weeks of appoint-
ments, a CT Scan and more
consults, we found that
Kevinas surgery must be done
at CURE hospital in Mbale.
Kevina was successfully
operated on August 1st and
should be back home by August
10th. Her incision is from ear to
ear.
Florence was treated in Gulu for
the weeks we were getting
Kevina evaluated; she was not
showing improvement;
osteomyelitis is hard to cure.
We found a hospital in Kam-
pala, CoRSU, that specializes in
these cases so we drove to
Gulu, Uganda and transferred
her to Kampala. I put Johnson,
Florence and her mom, Annet,
back on a bus to Kampala to
get her foot surgery done. She

is recovering well. Johnson
reported that she is getting
around like a champ on her
crutches. She is to be released
after her follow-up appointment
on August 12th to return to
Kinyiba.
We await the return of both
these brave girls and their
moms.
As I planned to come to Moyo to
bring Chandiga to visit his ill
mother and assess her
condition, we met Moses and
Annet. They have been married
a year this month and at 20 she
has probable cancer in her right
breast with lymph node involve-
ment. We brought them with us,
gave them money and put them
on the bus to the Cancer Insti-
tute at Mulago Hospital
Kampala.
They spent several months
trying to get help in Juba. Pray
it is not too late to save this
young girl.
Recent Unmet Needs in a Country with Almost No Healthcare Available.
This was just one day of people seeking help. Yes, often Im overwhelmed!
Does this 2 month old baby girl
have Spina Bifida? I have
never seen this condition.
About $700 will pay for surgery
to close the defect and place a
shunt at CURE hospital in
Uganda.
Pastor Abraham, our newest board
member, brought James to us after
an ultrasound revealed colon cancer.
We sent him to Kampala for a CT
scan and are waiting for his return to
see if an intervention is possible.
Ester and her 2 month old son,
Kowa, suffering from hydrocepha-
lus. She has no help and said that
she was impregnated by a family
member. She is now an outcast.
Tumor, cellulitis, osteo-
myelitis? This 12 year
old girl needs evalua-
tion and treatment.

Young Mother Going Blind! IMMEDIATE
NEED!
Kenneth asked me to help his
wife who had lost the sight in
her right eye and was quickly
losing it in her left.
WoH paid for them to travel to
Kampala for her to give birth to
Solomon and to get an MRI
immediately following.
She has an adenoma (tumor) that continues
to grow, pressing on her optic nerve.
With surgery, they expect her sight to fully
return and for her to lead a healthy life. With-
out surgery, the tumor will ultimately lead to
her death leaving four kids without a mom!

Cultivate Life Begins
It took a year to reach us but finally, this last week, Chandiga
and I practiced using this Cub Cadet tiller to till the ground
around the compound. We have planted beans, peas, sorghum,
eggplant, local greens and tomatoes.
Now that we are getting proficient, we can start tilling for
widows, disabled and those with orphans!
I had the privilege to bring my dear friend Joyces mother back to
Kinyiba. It was a joyous occasion after 2 years of being in town
recovering from a hip fracture. She was in traction 4 months, had
pneumonia twice and almost died of sepsis once during her hospi-
talization. An amazing 103 year old who loves God with all her
heart. Of course we sang praise songs when we arrived.

Thoughts from my Heart!
I had a visitor, Chris Earle, for a few days this week from Impact
South Sudan. What a blessing to speak to a North American, from
Canada, and laugh, share stories and discuss some of the hard-
ships of missionary work. No agenda, no programs, no projects,
just Italian roast coffee in my French press and bantering. Some
things Ive learned
1. I am lonely a lot of the time. With the conflict in South Su-
dan, it is not likely that many will come any time soon to
partner in this effort to love God and my neighbor. Pray He
sends workers. Then He told His disciples, The harvest is
vast, but the workers are few, Mat 9:37 ISV
2. My love for the Lord has led me to do this radical thing. Read
the book, Radical by David Platt! And they overcame him
(Satan) by the blood of the Lamb, the word of their testi-
mony: and they loved not their life even unto death. Rev
12:11
3. If we are living this life and trying to be Christlike, what do
we do when our brothers hurt us? Because they will, as we
will hurt others. Forgiveness is not just something we choose
to do but a command and something that comes from a
heart that is being shaped, reshaped, broken and remolded
by Him! Then Peter came up and asked Him, Lord, how
many times may my brother sin against me and I have to
forgive him? Seven times? Jesus told him, I tell you, not
just seven times, but 77 times! Mat 18:21-22
from work to help train TBAs.
The class will take three days
and we are hoping to accommo-
date 50 in our first class.
We have no money for this effort
yet! This is where you come in.
We will need to house and feed
them. Also we hope to send each
of them away with a fetal
stethoscope and other tools to
WoH plans to train TBAs to
have better practice skills and
to know when they need to
refer.
October 2014, WoH is
planning to have a training for
lay women who attend the
births of children in rural Kajo-
Keji county. Kevina, a Ugandan
midwife, has taken this time off
ensure they are equipped for
safer practice.
Training the TBAs in practice now
is the only way to decrease
mother and newborn mortality in
a country with the worst maternal
mortality rates in the world.

World Emergency Relief (WER)
Relief food is being sent to WoH by WER for
Internally Displaced People (IDPs), refugees
and the vulnerable. This will be a 40 foot
container with dried meals.
We expect this shipment to reach Kinyiba in
November. It will go by ship to Mombasa,
Kenya and then will be trucked across
Uganda into South Sudan.
Pray that this shipment will reach us safely.
It is a long and treacherous trip. Pray that
the distribution of food goes well and
reaches those that are the neediest.
I want to thank a dear supporter for paying
the $3000 for us to keep the container. This
will be a blessing to have for storage of
goods and equipment for years to come.

I am starting my
charcoal with a fensel
lens donated by Stan.
It gets the charcoal
going in less than a
minute on a sunny day
and save matches,
paper or dry grass and
lots of blowing!
Johnson is such a blessing. He
finished installing all the mahog-
any shelves in the kitchen. My job
is to sand and varnish. It is a 2
step varnish that leaves a beauti-
ful, protective finish that will last
for years. Also we have barrels for
all our food so no rats!
I need your support and prayers! Thank you for all you do!
I now have a ceiling in
my house and the
office. No more > 100
degrees when I go to
bed in the dry season!
Chris and Jimmie from
Canada are going to
help me paint and get
moved back in, yippee!
