ELECTIVES : RELOADED

Most of the Humanities electives require you to attend classes in order to get
good grades. You need to take a minimum of 8 units of Humanities in your
undergraduate degree (both single and dual degree).Firstly, it is all relative so
every course will have some people who get As and some who get Cs (ya, you will
have to work really hard in order to get a lesser grade). Secondly, you should
choose Humanities electives out of your own interests. However, if you want to
follow an easier path, I have made a list of all the HUELs and divided them into
three categories.

Popular Courses :
For students with PR Nos. b/w 1-400 or so. These are the courses in which the
course material is either very easy or the grading is very good as in more no. of
people get (A- and B).

Medium Courses:
For students with PR Nos. b/w 300-750 or so. These are the courses in which the
course material is lengthy and require rote learning or the grading is averageas in
more no. of people get (B and B-).

Difficult courses:
For students with any PR. These are the courses in which the course material is
lengthy and require deep thinking and also you need to be good at writing in
order to score marks. Also some of the courses have teachers who will never give
you marks if you write something which was not taught in the class.
Also these include some courses for which no feedback was received as they are
new or less no. of people took it.

As there are many ways to compare these courses and each student has his/her
criterion, so I have not divided the courses into any other subcategories.

Also, as it happens for those that have medium PRs, some courses are filled in the
beginning and some courses are blocked for people with lesser PRs. In this case
you guys are stuck. You will need to make a list of all the electives that are not
clashing with your timetable and compres. As soon as u reach there, start typing
the course no., if it is over go to the next and then whatever is left just choose
from them what you feel is best for you.

Some procedures you can follow to get a good HUEL.
1. DTC(Difficult Time-Table Case) : You can apply for a DTC, in that case you are
not given any HUEL, at the time of addition of a course, you can choose only 1
HUEL.
2. Substitution : In case you are unable to get any good HUEL, you can substitute
only 1 HUEL at the time of substitution.
3. Addition : At the time of registration, you do not fill any HUEL and it will notify
that you havent filled any and will receive a backlog, so you can add a course at
the time of addition.
PS: This is risky stuff. What I would suggest is that you choose any HUEL at the
time of reg., be it good or bad, and later on you also add another HUEL making it
2 in a single semester. If you excel at them, well and good otherwise you follow
the fourth point.
4. Withdraw : In case you feel that you are unable to get a good grade or the
HUEL can affect your GPA, you have an option to drop a course just after mid-
sems as long as you have another HUEL. The withdrawn course need not be
repeated and is not counted in the GPA, but do remember that it is listed with a
W sign in your grade card. (A thing not to be worried very much).

Disclaimer :These courses were divided on a lot of responses from a lot of seniors
and the other points are my viewsand may vary from other people. If you feel a
change needs to be made in the doc, leave them in the comments and others may
or may not agree on them. Also, I would suggest you to consult more seniors and
listen to yourself only before finalizing the electives.
