The blended ginger
and methanol were
added into a round
bottom flask and
refluxed for 30 mins.
The extract was
cooled, filtered and
dried with anhydrous
MgSO
4
, filtered it
back.
The extract in a pre-
weighed round
bottom flask was
evaporated by rota-
vap.
The weight of weakly
yellowish oil was
obtained and the yield
was calculated.
The functional groups of
the compounds
contained were
determined by FTIR.
The compounds were
analyzed by using
analytical and
preparative thin layer
chromatography.
The plates were visualised
under UV light and DPPH
reagent was sprayed to
calculate R
f
of those spots.
In the preparative TLC, the
silica gel was scraped
according to R
f
for GC-MS
analysis after centrifuging.
