ARBORIST CERTIFICATION COURSE
Sponsored by the City of Casper, Urban Forestry Section and the University of
Wyoming, Natrona County Cooperative Extension Service in cooperation with the
International Society of Arboriculture.

Objective
The objective of the International Society of Arboriculture Certification Course is
to provide an opportunity for education and training in recognized arboricultural
knowledge and techniques and to prepare the participant for the International
Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist exam.
Upon successful completion of this course the student will have a working
knowledge of the following:
Tree Biology
Tree Identification
Tree and Soil Relations
Water Management
Nutrition and Fertilization
Tree Selection
Installation and Establishment
Tree Support and Protection
Plant Health Care
Pruning
Disease and Diagnosis
Safety and Standards
Tree Assessment and Risk Management
Climbing
Students will attend classes bi-monthly in both classroom and outdoor sessions,
including workshops, and hands-on activities. Participants will also have the
opportunity to attend lectures given by leading experts in the tree care field, as
well as instructors representing both public and private tree care agencies, and
horticultural programs.

Course materials will not be provided by the City of Casper or the University of
Wyoming Cooperative Extension. It is recommended that each individual
attending this course have available the following materials.
