1. General description
The main aim of the Junior FMS (Farm Management Support) supporter is to advise Lely customers and
their stake holders to become successful Lely dairy equipment users and ensure their improvement of the
financial and social wellbeing by providing farm, herd and equipment management guidelines.
2. Duties and Responsibilities
o Training dairy farmers best robot farm management practises and guide new robot customers through
their process from conventional to successful robotic milking.
o Evaluate robot farms by observing and analysing the barn, herd, feed and computer data, summarizing
observations to a practical advice to reach the customers goals.
o Present farm management guidelines to groups of farmers, LC employees and their stakeholders.
o Apply guide lines and support tools defined by Lely.
o Reporting progress and success levels of the farmer to the LC and Lely support organisation.
o Consulting herd management stakeholders (like nutritionists and vets) about the best management
practises for successful robotic milking.
o Ensuring market feedback towards Lely to improve products and services.
3. Skills and Specifications
o In depth knowledge and practical experience of dairy herd management.
o Good listener, communicator and advisor with strong interpersonal skills.
o Self-motivated independent and enthusiastic individual with analytical skills.
o Team worker, able to get along well and be open minded with a range of dairy professionals.
o Willing to travel frequently with a flexible work hour attitude.
o Able to keep the overview but also pay attention to minute details.
o Able to perform presentations for groups of customers.
o Able and willing to generate to the point progress reports of customers.
o Language: English (Spanish is an absolute pre).
o Full understanding how to operate and explain internet based software solutions.
o Independently schedule visits as needed.
o Report on a regular basis to the Lely Centre Manager
4. Education and Qualifications
Bachelors degree Dairy Science
Or:
Minimum 5 years of on farm experience as herd manager
