1. Problems will be taken from all assigned core problems in Homework 1 12 (except those for
Sections 16.7, 16.9), examples discussed in the text in the corresponding sections, the ones discussed
on lectures, and the ones you had to submit in Homework assignments.
2. The Maple part will require knowledge of command from the package VectorCalculus related to
the material. You should be able to use Maple to compute numerically, and symbolically, and
should be able to use Maple in most of the core problems.
3. There will be no question on denitions on the exam.
The exam will contain two question asking you to prove one theorem or fact listed below (or a
part of any of them); one question from problems you had to submit; and six problems from the
assigned core problem or examples from the corresponding sections. You will have about 90 minutes
to answer these nine questions.
For the remaining 30 minutes you will be asked to answer four questions using Maple (with very
brief comments inserted in the worksheet), print the worksheet and submit.
The thirteen questions may be of various diculty, but all will be assigned the same number of
points. Partial credits will be given for only correct essential parts of your solution if they are
presented well.
At least one questions (out of all thirteen) will be taken from the previous exams.
