General Rules

1. Each squad may only participate in one division.


2. Squad size is unlimited, but may determine your division.
3. School squads will have two minutes and thirty seconds to perform their routine, but the musical
portion must not exceed one minute and thirty seconds. Timing will begin with the first
movement, voice, or note of music, whichever comes first. Squads must begin with at least one
foot on the ground.
4. All music must be on a CD. A representative from your team must know exactly when to start
and stop the music and remain with the sound engineer during the performance.
5. No pre-planned entrances or exits.
6. Signs, poms, megaphones, etc, are permitted and must be placed by the participating squad
members.
7. The competition area will be 54 x 42 ft deep. (9 carpeted foam mats across)
8. The judges will score the squads according to the judging criteria on a 100 point system. Please
see enclosed score sheets.
9. All participants agree to conduct themselves in a manner displaying good sportsmanship
throughout the competition with positive presentation upon entry and exit from the performance
area as well as throughout the routine. The coach of each team is responsible for seeing that team
members, coaches, parents and other persons affiliated with the team conduct themselves
accordingly. Severe cases of unsportsmanlike conduct are grounds for disqualification.

1. The competition is open to all squads in the following divisions:
School Divisions:
Youth Rec (Age 10 and under*)
Junior Rec (Age 12 and under*)
Middle School (8th grade and younger)
Junior High (9th grade and younger)
Junior Varsity
Small Varsity (15 members or less)
Medium Varsity (19 members or less)
Large Varsity (23 members or less)
Super Large Varsity (24 members or more)
Non-Tumbling Varsity
All-Star Divisions:

Penalties
1. If a squad exceeds their time limit or performs an illegal stunt or move, a 5 point penalty per
judge will be assessed.
Interruption of Performance
1. In the event that the routine of a squad is interrupted due to failure of the competition
equipment, facilities, etc, the squad affected will be permitted to continue their routine from
the place that the interruption occurred.
2. In the event that the routine of a squad is interrupted due to failure of the teams equipment
supplies, etc, the squad must either continue their routine or withdrawal from the competition.
3. In the event that injury caused the routine of a team to be interrupted, the squad must either
continue the routine or withdrawal from the competition.
