Cultural Studies is offered as either a four-year programme with a single or combined language (French, German, Italian, Spanish) with a year abroad, or as a three-year programme specialising in a Humanities subject, i.e. Philosophy. Students must study 120 Credits at both Stage 2 and Stage 3 giving a total of 240 Credits over the two stages. At least 90 Credits must be at Level H to be eligible for an Honours degree. Students are expected to register for 60 Credits in each term. Students should note that the Faculty of Social Sciences offers Cultural Studies and Comparative Literary Studies, and Cultural Studies and History & Philosophy of Art as programmes of study.

Students may choose the remaining 60 Credits from either, the Culture and Literature options for their chosen Language, or from the Cultural Studies options.

CULTURAL STUDIES (SPECIALISING IN A HUMANITIES SUBJECT) Three Year Degree The Faculty of Humanities offers a joint Cultural Studies programme with the following subjects: Classical & Archaeological Studies, Drama, English, American and Postcolonial Literature, Philosophy, Religious Studies. Stages 2 and 3 Students are required to take the following 75 Credits of Cultural Studies: Year Long SO506 Popular Culture, Media and Society (compulsory for Stage 2 students) H 30 SO676 Cultures of Embodiment H 30 Autumn Term Spring Term SO657 Digital Culture H 15 AND between 90 and 150 Credits from the J oint Honours section for their other subject, Classical & Archaeological Studies, Drama, English, American and Postcolonial Literature, Philosophy, Religious Studies. Any remaining Credits may be taken from the Cultural Studies options.
