Directory of Resources for Individuals In Need Residing in MA
Acceptable forms of Photo IDs are a drivers license, passport or other government issued Photo ID. Some pantries accept other forms of photo IDs including work or school ID cards. If a pantry requires proof of family size a photo ID card should be provided for each adult individual in the household and a birth certificate or mass health card for each dependent child. Although this may not be listed in a pantrys requirements it is always a good idea to bring these documents to ensure your household receive appropriate assistance.
Most pantries require proof of income. Acceptable income verification documents include a pay stub, current unemployment or social security documentation for anyone that is working or receiving assistance. Some pantries accept DTA/EBT cards or benefit statements. If you receive DTA, WIC or other government assistance and are at or below current income guidelines you will be eligible for food assistance.
If proof of residency is required a rental receipt, copy of a lease, mortgage document or most recent utility bill including phone, gas, electric, water etc. are all acceptable documents.
When a referral is required contact the Food Source Hotline at 1(800)645-8333. Translators are available in 160 languages to serve those who are not English speakers. The Food Source Hotline is also able to serve callers who are deaf or hard of hearing through its TTY line, 1(800)377-1292.
Visitation limitations are how frequently a household is able to receive assistance. Typically, individuals or households are able to visit and receive assistance from a pantry either once or twice per month.
