This document provides a summary of qualitative analysis of simple inorganic salts. It describes preliminary tests to identify cations (positive ions) such as group analysis to identify NH4+, Ba2+, Sr2+, Ca2+, Mg2+ and anions (negative ions) including tests for CO32-, Cl-, Br-, NO3-, SO42-. Color changes, precipitate formation and flame tests are used to infer the presence of different ions. The document also includes confirmatory tests to verify preliminary analyses.
