From the Pastors Pen
Its that time of year again, when the kids go back to school and for the rest of us,
our travels start to cease and we get back into the swing of things. It is a time to
start new journeys.
We have completed a journey. It is time to start anew. We recently finished our
study of the Revelation on Wednesday nights. This study was picked by you and I
pray that it was as challenging and enjoyable for you as it was for me.
When we were nearing the end of our study of Revelation last month, we passed
out ballots with options for our next study, picked by you. After the votes were counted, you picked
for our next study: The 12 Apostles. We will be embarking on a study of who the twelve were, and how
their example can inspire us today.
Be thinking and praying about what you would like to see studied in the future on Wednesday nights.
For before you know it, it will be time again to vote on our next study!
Please pass the word about our new study. On Wednesday nights we seek to highlight the studies that
are interesting to you! If you see someone that is a regular on Sundays, but you have missed them on
Wednesdays, be sure to invite them!
Also please remember: as this school year is underway, do not forget to lift up our students and teach-
ers in prayer. One of the greatest mission fields of our day is the school house. Pray that they may be
encouraged to let their light shine before men.

Thank you for the privilege and honor of being your pastor,

In His Service,
Pastor Trey Wells and fam-
ily; Laura, James and John

Doesnt it seem to you (as it does to me) that summer slipped in and
out in a short time? It has been an unusual summer for sure.

We are starting the Samaritans Purse drive in Septemberso please
pick up your box the first Sunday in September and fill it. We send
them out in November. September is also the month for State Mis-
sions, now known as NC Missions. Our church goal this year is $600.
Please note that 10% of the monies that come from Johnston Baptist
Association returns to the JBA for mission use. Also this money helps
fund the Baptist Men and their work.

Some of the Women on Mission ladies are purchasing two gliders for
the nursery. They will replace the rocking chairs that might hurt a lit-
tle ones fingers or toes. They will be asking for donations to help pay
for the gliders. More information will be coming.

We hope you will continue to support our special offering drives and
our church budget.

WOM 1 lost one of our members with the death of Pennie Whitley. She
was a faithful member of our group and leaves a large hole in our
lives. Our prayers are with her family.
See you in church!

WOM I
The Women on Missions I met on
Tuesday, August 12 at 1 pm in the
Fellowship Hall of Clydes Chapel
Baptist Church. We were called to
order by President Jac Davis with a
prayer.

Due to the death of long time WOM I
member Pennie Whitley, we decided
to have a short meeting to take care
of immediate matters that was
brought before the WOM I members.
With a motion from Saundra Free-
man and a second from Betty Turnip-
seed, it was decided to make a do-
nation to Relay for Life in Pennies
name

We discussed sponsoring a hole in
the upcoming Relay for Life Golf
Tournament and decided with a mo-
tion from Jane Dean and a second
from Margie Davis to sponsor said
hole. Also Saundra Freeman asked
those attending to let her know if
they can bake a cake for the said
tournament.

We planned the August meal
for the Wednesday meal and
the Family meal for Pennies
funeral.

The Samaritan Purse collec-
tion will begin the 7th of Sep-
tember. Be ready to pick yours
up.

Our next scheduled meeting is
set for Tuesday, September 9th
at 1 pm in the fellowship hall.
Jane Dean closed our meeting
with a prayer.

May God bless and keep you
all, Saundra Freeman, Vice
Chair and Reporter

away. The choir is working on new music and will begin on Christmas music soon.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS: We had some mothers of the church to come and ask could we work toward improving the

Carroll, Jennifer Silvers, and Jessica Parker requested that a fund be established to raise the funds and it be established as
