Lesson Description:
For this project, you and a partner will write a Comic about one topic of Digital Citizenship. Your choices
are:
plagiarism
cyber-bullying
software downloads
meeting online friends in person
keeping personal information private
respectful online user
responsible online user
You will begin by reviewing Digital Citizenship. After selecting your topic, you will draw each panel of
your comic using Paint. You will need to save each panel image separately. Then you will upload each
panel image to your ebook.

2. Choose a Digital Citizenship topic for your comic eBook with your partner.

3. You will be creating your comic eBook using mixbook.com. Go this site, create an account, and
click on photo books to begin your eBook.
4. Review these tips to help your write a comic book.

5. First, use the storyboard worksheet (link to document) to first plan out each panel of your comic
where one panel will be one page of your eBook. You must include at least 10-12 pages
(panels), however if you choose you can include more pages for better detail and explanation of
your topic.
6. Your comic must be teaching the reader about this specific topic of digital citizenship. Think how
this eBook could be used to teach next years 5
th
graders about Digital Citizenship.
7. Explain what this particular digital citizenship topic means by providing a definition and have
your characters act out an example or two to show how to be a good digital citizen.
8. Before working on your comic eBook on mixbook.com and after planning on the storyboard
worksheet, you must draw each picture with speech bubbles in Paint. Be sure to save the each
picture individually so that each one is a panel/page of your comic. Finally, upload all pictures to
your mixbook.
9. Be sure to proofread and edit as you create each image in Paint.
10. Images must be full size on each page of your book and not blurry. Each page must include the
full size panel image you created in Paint.
11. See me when you and your partner are finished for final publishing.
