ET-CA Circular Cutting machine :

The machine is used for high volume slitting of
foam sheets by cutting several blocks together in
a circular movement. Blocks side trimmed on
Vertical Cutter are slit in different thickness from 2
mm onwards in increments of 0.1 mm. The
machine has a cutting head, with a high tensioned
Teflon coated knife guide placed horizontally. The
endless knife rotates on a set of four, rubber lined
dynamically balanced aluminium wheels. The
band knife is continuously sharpened by a set of
motorized cup polish wheels. The cutting head
moves up & down on a set of precision vertical
pillars. The machine has a round cutting table
which moves in a circular motion between the
above pillars. The table has optional vacuum
arrangement to hold the blocks cutting, to avoid
any lifting. The table is driven by a friction tyre &
has a variable speed AC frequency drive to
control the cutting speed between 0.5 to 5.5
rounds per minute. The machine has a fully
automatic operation & is controlled by a PLC
controller & a Multi Programmable Touch Screen
Display & Control Panel. This is the result of
years of research & development giving a virtually
trouble free operation. It has self diagnostic error
detection & fault history maintenance.




2.1 Operation of Circular Cutting Machine :
The foam blocks are placed on the emery coated table which rotates between the cutting
head pillars. After one round is cut, the machine head comes down as per the prefed
thickness & the next round is cut. This goes on till the required number of prefed cut
rounds is achieved. Thereafter the program number increments automatically & the next
fed values of thickness & rounds is displayed. The cutting process goes on automatically
till the end of the foam blocks is reached. The machine then stops automatically & gives
the completion alarm & is ready for next set of blocks to be cut. The requirement of the
operator is only during the loading & unloading of blocks & the rest of the cutting process is
automatic.
