Automated car braking system: Using neural

network system via Labview environment

This paper represents the development of a car braking system based on artificial neural network
for use during parking. This project involves replacing the usual car reverse warning system with
a system that will react automatically based on the distance between the car and a given obstacle
by gradually increasing the braking pressure until such a point that is deemed the closest safe
distance to the obstacle, in which the braking pressure will then be increased to max and the car
will halt. To realize this application, this project will make use of LabView simulation software
to create the artificial neural network engine and present the simulation results.

A distributed intrusion detection system for
industrial automation networks
Modern automation is measured in terms of interoperability and easy administration. Introducing
technology focussing on these criteria, however, induce new security risks to existing and future
automation installations. Current security approaches in automation do not keep pace with the
rising security challenges. Prevalent in automation is the use of access control to protect the
system from malicious activity, such as extern attacks. Means to inspect the automation traffic to
identify attacks that already have overcome access control or are initiated from inside the
automation system are not available, yet. For filling this gap, we investigate in the application of
intrusion detection techniques on industrial automation. In this paper, we present the current state
of an intrusion detection system tailored to the analysis of operation down to traffic between
automation devices on field layer.

LabVIEW is a one of its kind versatile software tool that can be used in almost all engineering
departments. Though the primary function of LabVIEW is in the form of virtual instrumentation,
today LabVIEW projects can be used for variety of applications ranging from image processing,
signal processing, instrumentation and control to SCADA systems and many more
applications.Naturally final year LabVIEW Projects are gaining popularity among various
departments. Contrary to popular belief LabVIEW is not just meant for EIE Projects, it is equally
applicable to ECE projects and EEE projects as well. Using LabVIEW students can add very
interactive and easy to use graphical interface to their final year projects. LabVIEW can be used
with most projects which require a computer interface. LabVIEW is particularly useful with final
year projects in Industrial monitoring and control. Thousands of interesting and innovative IEEE
projects are possible with a LabVIEW interface. Additionally simulation projects that are
completely based on LabVIEW are also possible. There is a popular belief among the academic
community at large that to use LabVIEW in a real time project, one needs expensive DAQ cards
and similar tools. This however is completely wrong. LabVIEW Projects can be implemented
with real time working models, without using expensive DAQ cards. We at Ingens offer perhaps
the widest range of final year projects based on LabVIEW for students of different departments.
Projects in LabVIEW are possible for BE, B Tech projects as well as ME, M Tech projects and
even beyond. We offer both LabVIEW simulation projects as well as real time projects based on
LabVIEW.
