API RP 1004 RP dry break couplers for bottom loading
they also comply with the latest stringent European Union regulations such as the P.E.D. (97/23/EC) and
ATEX (94/9/EC) directives

Silea couplers can be used in the petrochemical industry when dry coupling is required.
Manufactured according to the API RP 1004 standard regulations, are supplied with a 4 TTMA flange and
are made of aluminium alloy.
The surfaces subject to wear are hard coated.
The standard fluoroelastomer (Viton) seals are easily removable to allow maintenance operations.
This type of coupling prevents spillage during the connection/disconnection operations and ensures safety
conditions for the operators.

Female API RP 1004 dry break coupler,
model 513

The female dry break coupler SILEA 513 is full interlocked.
It cannot be opened unless it is properly connected, and
cannot be disconnected when the poppet is open. It contains
two safety trigger and four interlock lugs for secure
connection.

As consequence of the fact that it conforms to the API RP
1004 specifications, the SILEA 513 can also be used with
the adaptors of other manufacturers

Adaptor 511

Adaptor 512
Male API RP 1004 dry-break couplers
(adaptors), model 511 and 512

These two adaptors are utilized for the loading and unloading
operation of movable tankers.
They are installed on the tank-trucks or tank wagons.
In addition to allowing an easy coupling to the loading and
unloading arms, they assure a coupling without any spillage
and the complete safety during the transferring process.

The adaptor 512 is equipped with a operating handle
permitting the manual opening and closing of the valve, and a
sightglass.

The adaptors are manufactured in an aluminium alloy.
The surfaces subject to wear are hard coated.
The standard seals are in fluoroelastomer (Viton).

The items are 4 TTMA flanged.

While loading the tank-vehicle has to be connected to the
vapour recovery unit to maintain the operating pressure within
the 0,5 bar

Our coupler and adaptors comply with the latest stringent European Union regulations
such as the P.E.D. (97/23/EC) and ATEX (94/9/EC) directives. The former covers
pressure equipment and assemblies with a maximum allowable pressure PS greater than
0.5 bar. Pressure equipment means vessels, piping, safety accessories and pressure
accessories. Assemblies means several pieces of pressure equipment assembled to form
an integrated, functional whole. The latter, instead, stipulates that all products intended for
use within potentially explosive atmospheres must meet the requirements specified by it.
In very broad terms, there are three pre-conditions for the Directive to apply:1) the
equipment must have its own source of ignition; 2) be intended for use in a potentially
explosive atmosphere (air mixtures); and be 3) under normal atmospheric conditions. The
ATEX directive also covers components essential for the safe use and safety devices
directly contributing to the safe use of the equipment in scope. These latter devices may
be outside the potentially explosive environment.
