Tournament Rules
1. Tournament Type The Tournament will be played in No Limit Holdem Sit
& Go format.
2. Eligibility As it is an intra-university tournament, all the players must be
from IUT including any person directly relate this institution.
3. Entrance Fees - All entrance fees (200 BDT) must be paid before play
begins. The prize pool will be determined by the number of player
entrance & total collected fees. 80% of the total fees will be given in the
prize pool & rest would go on the house for organizers & dealers. The prize
pool will be declared when registration is closed.
4. Rounds/Stages - All the participants will be divided into several tables
each consists of maximum 6 players. General SNG will be played in each
board where the top 2 finisher will proceed to next round. Through this
process there will be last 6 players who will fight in the Final table for the
jackpot!
5. Seat Assignment- There would be maximum six players in each table. Your
seat will randomly be assigned to you.
6. Starting Stacks- When you arrive at the table your starting stack will be at
your spot. Total amount of chips is 500 for each player of the table.
o Tournament chips have no cash value, and you cannot cash out at
any point during the tournament.
o It's always a good idea to double check your chips against the
posted starting stack to make sure you have the correct amount of
chips.
7. Blind Levels - The way tournaments differ from cash games is that the
blinds increase at regular intervals.
o This is to force play and to get the action going. The schedule of
blind increases and what the blinds will be is given below. Each
levels duration is 15 minutes & there will be 2 minutes break after
each level. The next level will be determined & announced by the
dealer.
o It's a good idea to get familiar with the blind structure before
playing. If the blinds increase and your dealer has already cut the
cards, the blinds will increase on the next hand.

10. The Deal - The deal proceeds according to general holdem poker rules.
The two players to the left of the button are the small blind and the big
blind. After each hand the button moves one seat to the left. The button is
determined in the first hand completely randomly.
11. Cards & Chips Players must keep their cards [faced off] & chips clearly
visible & countable. Players with live hands must keep their cards in plain
view at all times. Their chips should be kept in countable stacks & they
must know their total chips to call All in condition anytime. This is to avoid
time waste. Those who wouldnt manage this could be punished by
penalty.
12. Absent Players - All players must be dealt into the hand and their
blinds/ antes forced into the pot whether they are at the table or not. If the
player is not present by the time his second card is dealt, his hand will be
ruled dead. And if a player remains absent for 20 minutes constantly, hell
be eliminated from the table & his chips will be moved out from the table.
13. All-in Bets - A player who declares himself all in plays for all of the chips in
front of him. If the other player has more he is only entitled to an amount
equal to his own stack. The same goes for an all-in player that has less
than his required blind. He is only entitled to what he put in.
14. All-in confrontations - When two players are all in and the action is
completed, both hands must be exposed face up before the rest of the
board is run.
15. Calling the Clock - A player can request the pit boss to force a player to
choose an action in a set amount of time (typically 30 seconds). If the
player fails to act in that time, his or her hand is folded. Only a player
seated at the table at the time the current hand was dealt can call the
clock.

player with the greater amount of chips at the start of the hand finishes in
the higher position. If all players started the hand with an identical number
of chips, all players tie for that rank, and any prizes due to those players
will be equally distributed between them.
17. Showing Cards - Intentionally exposing a card is illegal in tournament play
and a hand can be ruled dead as well as a time penalty issued.

cards is punishable by a penalty. Also unethical play is strictly prohibited.
Chip dumping and other forms of collusion will result in disqualification.
19. Heads up- When two players are left you reached heads up play. In this
scenario the small blind is the button and acts first before the flop but last
on all ensuing streets.
20. Players Chat- Players, whether in the hand or not, may not discuss the
hands until the action is complete. Players are obligated to protect the
other players in the tournament at all times. Discussing cards discarded or
hand possibility is not allowed. A penalty may be given for discussion of
hands during play.
21. Viewers- Viewers are allowed to watch the tourney. But they are strictly
forbidden to make any conversation with the live players when the board
is running. They might talk to the players in the breaks.
22. Floor Decisions - Floor people (organizer/ dealer) must consider the best
interest of the game and fairness as top priorities in the decision-making
process. Unusual circumstances can on occasion dictate that decisions in
the interest of fairness take priority over the technical rules. The floor-
persons decision is final.
