INTRODUCTION

It has been known for eons of time that color plays a major role in setting up a
particular mood or state of mind. Color does affect one's feelings, moods, and
emotions.
Colors are certain wavelengths of electro-magnetic energy seen through our
eyes. The color we see is the part of the visible spectrum that is reflected back
by a certain object.
Color therapy is distinct from other types of light therapy, such as ultraviolet
blood irradiation, which are scientifically-accepted medical treatments for a
number of conditions, and from photobiology, the scientific study of the effects
of light on living organism
DEFINITION
Chromotherapy, sometimes called color therapy, colorology or
cromatherapy, is a complementary medicine method. Trained
chromotherapists claim to be able to use light in the form of color to balance
"energy" wherever a person's body be lacking, whether it be on physical,
emotional, spiritual, or mental levels. The practice is pseudoscientific, since it
does not employ the scientific method.
Color Therapy or Color Healing is the use of color in various forms for the
purpose of creating balance and health in the human system. The human system
includes not only the physical body, but also the emotional, mental and spiritual
aspects (PEMS). Working with the PEMS is referred to as wholistic medicine.

How Colors Affect Us
Color is one of the languages of the soul, just look at inspired or
meditative paintings.
They influence mood and emotions.
They have their impact on sense of well-being or un-easiness.
Using and avoiding certain colors is a way of self-expression; it sheds
light on personality.
Colors affect way of perception (light colors make a space look big, a
high ceiling looks less high when painted in a dark color, etc.)
Colors have a symbolic meaning which is immediately recognized by
subconsciousness. It must be said that not all colors mean the same to all
persons and all cultures.
They influence the flow and amount of energy in ones bodies.
Colors influences biological attraction and sexual availability.
CLINICAL APPLICATIONS:
Color therapy is effectively used in depression and in mood disorders
TYPES OF COLOR THERAPY
COLORPUNCTURE and SAMASSATI COLOR THERAPY
Colorpuncture and Samassati Color Therapy use color light on meridians and
acupoints, chakras, in the aura, and on various reflex zones. Just as needling
(acupuncture) or applying pressure (acupressure and Shiatsu) to meridians and
acupoints, color in the form of light, crystals, essential oils, etc., can also affect
the electromagnetic circuitry of the human system.
Samassati Color Therapy is rooted in Colorpuncture using the techniques of
Colorpuncture. The difference is that with Samassati Color Therapy, there is
less emphasis on following the techniques by rote, and more about sensing the
effects of specific colors, listening to one's intuition regarding color and
placement, and feeling the effects of color with all the various energy pathways
of the client. It's learning about Color and Light viscerally.

COLOR SILKS THERAPY
Another form of Color Therapy uses colored silks on the body, primarily over
the chakra centers.
Also being natural fabrics, cotton and wool carry a healing vibration as well, but
silk carries the highest frequency vibration of any natural cloth. Because of this,
colored silks have the ability to radiate their signature color frequency to the
physical body and energy field (aura).
The energy of silk is soft yet potent, allowing one to soak up the color
frequency. One of the beauties of Color Silks Therapy is that you can place an
entire sheet of color over the entire body, or place an single color on a particular
part of the body.
