Colour Pallets
Shades of blue I like well on this magazine along with the black and white. I find that though the
black adds a slight darkness towards parts of it, the light blue can have depth and effect, but the
lighter tones often lack impact and any sort of eye catching abilities which is why it stands out a lot
here.

In this instance the colours of yellow and blue are very bright, and eye catching, despite this, I dislike
how they slightly clash and are too in your face, they work well with the white, but it could be
improved with a more fitting colour.

The reds work a great charm, often magazines may use a black and white scheme with a deeper red
outlining certain words or titles in the text, to help break it up and draw the eye. However on this
magazine the lighter tones of red, compliment many different colour schemes and work very well.

In this instance the colours of yellow and white are very bright, and eye catching, because of this I
strongly like how this magazine looks because of how bold they are. They are very in your face, they
work well with the dark blackness of the background of the magazine.

Survey Monkey

Mainly a female
audience has
responded, but there
are guy opinions
submitted in the
survey.
The most popular
genre chosen was
pop/chart music
closely followed by
rock. However I believe
that pop/chart music
style could range too
widely to be
specifically noticed on
a magazine cover
therefore I am going to
go with a rock/indie
theme.

Most of my responses
have said that they
slightly
often/moderately often
read magazines.
Most people that responded like to see a specific icon on the magazine cover itself, and they are
shown through a very eye catching photo of themselves. They also like to see a nice catchy headline
that interests them and is to do with a certain person or group that they are into.

Most people that responded believe that there should be a very eye catching cover photo on the
magazine, a masthead and a main headline.

Most people who responded would
pay up to 4-5 for a magazine.

A lot of people who responded said that they buy a magazine because of the person/group that are
on the cover of the magazine. This of course makes sense because if its someone that interests you
greatly, it makes you pick it up and want to look at it for more detail on them specifically. Also if it
has featured people that they also like or someone else likes, they will again pick it up to look for
more detail.
A total of 9 people responded to my survey. 7 of these 9 were girls and 2 were boys. This isnt a very
fair ratio, but the style of magazine that I am currently working on would appeal more to a girl
audience so isnt much of a problem in terms of how many boys took the survey.

Style Outfits
I want my magazine cover to contain a girl that is influenced to look like a mix between Lana Del Rey
and Sky Ferreira, two indie pop singers.
